As a huge cricket fan I enjoy watching Aussie cricket - The thing that I think overseas teams, media etc are sick of is the constant behaviour issues - before u start on me I'll list a few.....
1 - Brett Lee - doing his 'triple punch the shit outa someone' routine when he gets them out. What's that for? We're playing sport here. I'll never forget Lee doing that one day when India were about 500-3 and he got Laxman out for about 140 or something - Lee had been smacked all over the place and had about 2-170 of 30 overs and he carried on like he'd just bowled him first ball. It was ridiculous and Ganguly made a point of adeclaring once lee had cracked 200 in his bowling figures!!
2. Adam Gilchrist - he can talk all he wants about not appealing unless he thinks its out, but when Dravid padded that ball to him the other day - he appealed by throwing the ball sky high before he knew whether it was out or not - don't tell me he didn't know what he was doing.
I also won't forget the time McCullum was facing Hogg last year and edged one into his pad. The ball popped up. Hogg appealed for lbw, Peter Parker fired him for that - meanwhile Gilly was diving round from behind the stumps trying to take the catch the edge was that big!! McCullum pointed at Gilly pointing out that he was trying to catch it - Parker reported him and he was fined for dissent/ gilly looked real guilty!!
3. Clarke - This 'agreement of Ponting/Kumbles of accepting a players word he took a catch is fine but Clarke took a catch against NZ in the Chappell/Hadlee and said he caught it when he didn't - then it happens again in the recent test when he also mouthed 'f*() off!' Now accepting a players word was the agreement - but what do u do when that player is lying? U can't tell me he knows for sure that he'd caught it - u know if u got your hand under a ball or not....
Now Ponting is harking on about 'playing hard and fair' etc but its' been too much and although u might argue there's been no massive bustup - I think it's the straw that has broken the camels back - and don't get stuck into me about it - read your own papers and see what people are writing.....
Also had to laugh seeing McGrath in tv tonight saying how Harbajan was a bit of a talker - will never forget him going off at Sarwan in the Windies!!!
To finish, I don't have a problem with non-walkers but as I've said previously - yr gonna get it in the ear all day if I'm playing!!!
We could ALL sit there and give incidents we don't like from OPPOSITION Teams - Very Easily !!!
No offence intended but excuse me if i take most of you say with a pinch of salt......you are after all a Kiwi
