Yes, you are spot on there blackwind.
Golden State has matched the Clippers offer for Azubuike, and Evans is not heading to Golden State.

Here is the confirmation that Maurice Evans has signed with the Hawks...

Hawks fill Childress' void by signing Evans
Veteran swingman signs multi-year deal, could slide into sixth-man role

The Hawks didn't waste any time filling the void left by Josh Childress, who signed a three-year deal with a Greek team Wednesday.

Journeyman Maurice Evans has agreed to terms with the Hawks on a three-year deal believed to be worth about $7.5 million, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation.

Evans was reportedly close to signing a three-year deal with Golden State on Wednesday, one California newspaper reported.

But that was before Childress bolted for the Euro league and before the Warriors decided to match a three-year, $9 million offer sheet to their own restricted free agent swingman, Kelena Azubuike, from the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday.

Evans, a six-year veteran, started 47 games last season for Orlando, the Hawks' Southeast Division rival, including all 10 playoff games against Toronto and Detroit for the division champs.

He could slide into the sixth-man spot vacated when Childress opted for a deal with Greek power Olympiakos.

Evans, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound swingman, averaged 9.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 68 games last season after being traded to Orlando from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Evans, 29, has a reputation as a tenacious perimeter defender and opportunistic offensive threat. He's a career 37 percent shooter from beyond the 3-point line, and averaged a career-high 9.3 points last season.

Evans played the best game of his NBA career against the Hawks in April. He scored a career-high 27 points in a 121-105 win over the Hawks on April 15 at Philips Arena.

Since the start of the 2001-02 season, Evans has logged time with Minnesota, Sacramento, Detroit, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Magic, his longest stint with one team being the 2006-07 season with the Lakers and the seven games he played last season before being traded.

The Lakers traded Evans and Brian Cook to the Magic last November for Trevor Ariza.

GSW have resigned Andris Biedrins....

The Warriors have moved quickly to prevent Andris Biedrins from considering interest from teams in Europe by reaching terms on a new deal with the restricted free agent.

League sources told ESPN.com that Biedrins was en route to Oakland on Sunday night, after agreeing to a new six-year deal with the Warriors worth nearly $63M. The contract will likely be signed Monday and include a player option for Biedrins to return to the free-agent market in the summer of 2013 after completing five seasons.

Seems like I am talking to myself in this thread, but anyway, I'll keep posting as the signings happen.

Kwame Brown is headed back to the Eastern Conference.

Brown's agent, Mark Bartlestein, told ESPN.com on Monday night that the former No. 1 pick in the 2001 draft has reached a verbal agreement on a new contract with the Detroit Pistons.

The contract is believed to be a two-year deal worth $8 million, with Brown -- who spent his first four seasons as a pro in Washington after being drafted by then-Wizards president Michael Jordan -- holding a player option to return to free agency after this season.

Brown earned nearly $9.1 million last season in the final year of his previous three-year deal, which the 26-year-old received in the summer of 2005 in a sign-and-trade from Washington to the Los Angeles Lakers. Brown's expiring salary was the chief chip that the Lakers used to convince the Memphis Grizzlies to send Pau Gasol to L.A. on Feb. 1 in a trade that earned the Grizzlies widespread criticism.

Brown played in only 15 games with the Grizzlies after the trade, averaging just 3.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in under 14 minutes per game.

Is $4MIL good value for Kwame? I'm struggling to see the value...Though Detroit do need a big man I guess.

I reckon Golden State got an awesome price for Biedrins! 10Mil a season is alot, but he is definately going places at the rate he's improved so far and he is so young! Seriously if Dampier got a contract like that at age...28? 30? Bargin city for Biedrins IMO.

Well its less than half of what he was getting last season. I know the Hawks were interested, but the most they could offer was about $3 million, which is all they had left of the MLE. Perhaps there was a small bidding war, with Detroit having to offer more than the Hawks to secure him.

I'd count myself lucky if I'm the Hawks that I didn;t have more than $3Mil to offer in case I did something stupid! 9 was indeed ridiculous, but then there was no way he was getting anywhere near that this season. He's lucky to still be NBA bound.

He does fit what the Hawks are looking for, a big that can defend in the post. The Hawks need someone that can do that for 10-15 mins a game. You're right though, $4 million a year would be too much to pay for someone just to do that. I guess thats why we signed Randolph Morris yesterday to the minimum, in a hope that he might be able to provide the big defence we need. Morris is way less experienced, and really didnt do anything in New York. Hopefully bringing him home to the ATL will help him.

I guess we still have $3 million to spend on another FA out there.

Biedrins was a decent re-signing, $10M a year for 6 years. If he produces well for them in the next 3-4 years, they've gotten their money's worth.

Big Men (decent) are harder to come by these days.

How about them Clippers...

LOS ANGELES -- The Clippers continued their offseason makeover Monday, signing veteran swingman Ricky Davis to a multiyear contract.

Sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford that the deal was for two years, $4.7 million with an opt out clause for Davis after his first year.

Davis wasn't THAT great, but he did provide some scoring punch for Miami. Wonder what's next in store for Miami.....

Renaldo Balkman traded to Denver for Taurean Green, Bobby Jones and a 2010 2nd rounder....

The New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh announced today that a 2010 second-round draft choice, guard Taurean Green and guard/forward Bobby Jones have been acquired from Denver for forward Renaldo Balkman and cash considerations.

The draft pick will be the more favorable selection between the Nuggets and Clippers, resulting from a previous trade.

Balkman, 6-8, 208-pounds, averaged 3.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 65 games for New York last season. Originally drafted by the Knicks after his junior season at the University of South Carolina in the first round (20th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft, the Staten Island-native finishes his career in blue and orange having played in 133 career games, averaging 4.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 15.2 minutes over two seasons.

Now that deal for the Clips is a good 1! That replaces Maggette in 1 fell swoop and does it for a lot less money. Davis is a very good all round player.

A young frontcourt player to help fill the Camby void, nice move. He'll get more opportunity in Denver.

Like the move for New York too as it brings in some youth (yes, New York trading for youth!) in a young guard to ease out Marbury and a good scoring forward in Jones.

with davis out, they can look to cook to relieve wade.. good pickup for the clips i reckon.. davis can score heaps during his day.. might still be able to put up numbers this season

is Taurean Green any good? haven't seen him play or at least not that i remember

taureen green hasnt had much of a chance to play as yet... none of us know much about him as yet but may do once he gets a chnace to show his stuff

nice trade for denver with the energetic balkman...

davis pickup by clips is good... got him for next to nix really, so thats great... they actually have been very busy in offseason and should be a nice looking team on paper

76ers Sign Free Agent Guard Kareem Rush

Philadelphia, Pa. – July 29, 2008 – Philadelphia 76ers President and General Manager Ed Stefanski announced today that the team has signed free agent guard Kareem Rush. Per team policy, terms of the agreement are not disclosed.

he Pistons were expected to make a big splash this summer, but 6-foot-11, 270-pound Kwame Brown wasn’t what most had in mind. Nevertheless, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2001 draft is coming to Detroit.

The Charlotte Bobcats have agreed in principle on a six-year contract worth at least $72 million with restricted free agent Emeka Okafor.

Nenad Krstic won't be wearing a Nets uniform next season, or the uniform of any another NBA team, either.

The restricted free agent, who spent the first four seasons of his career with the Nets, signed a two-year deal that could be worth $10 million with a team in Moscow Monday night.

Wow another 1 flies the NBA! And a Big man too! On the plus side for the Nets, they have Williams, Boone, the other Williams from the Hawks and they just got Yi from the Bucks = plenty of Bigs.

Rush to 76ers is...nice? He's can play and he'll help the backcourt score.

Damn, was hoping they'd be able to keep Krstic. That's their "true" Center gone...

Found this on Kwame too, made me think, "WTF"...

No. 1 pick Kwame Brown still has loads of potential. The 7-year veteran is averaging 12.4 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals per 48 minutes. Can he finally meet his expectations?

Stats sounds pretty decent, if only he could manage 10 minutes a game without fouling out or pissing the coach off....

I hear NY are gonna cut both Green & Jones.

As for Denver...... wow, great off-season we've had... first we trade away our only draft pick, then we give away camby & our big trade is for Balkman?? Ok, I admit I don't know much about him..... but I don't expect him to be the saving grace of our season.....
