Hey Guys,

The 2011 AFL Dream Team kicks off again on the 1st of Feb, but I have pre-registered :p. My teams name..Back2Back. So I will set up a OCT league when it starts whoever wants to join comment below-be quick, limited numbers!! To get ya started..

Rookies To Watch:

DAVID SWALLOW (Gold Coast, NAB AFL Draft selection 1)
This is a no-brainer. If he stays fit, Swallow will play every game for the Suns and is expected to spend plenty of time in the midfield. Should average 20 touches per game and will pick up plenty of contested possessions.

ANDREW GAFF (West Coast Eagles, selection 4)
With the Eagles desperately needing an injection of class into their midfield, expect Gaff to line up against North Melbourne in round one. He'll have no trouble finding the ball if his performances in the 2010 NAB Under-18 Championships are any guide. While playing for Vic Metro, Gaff averaged 27 disposals at 79 per cent efficiency.

JARED POLEC (Brisbane Lions, selection 5)
The Lions need to rebuild their team after a disastrous 2010 campaign and Polec, with his blistering pace and accurate disposal, shapes as a vital addition. Barring injuries, he'll spend a lot of time in the midfield and should be a consistent point-scorer.

JOSH CADDY (Gold Coast, selection 7)
Dream Team players might be reluctant to put too many Gold Coast players in the team because the Suns have the bye in round one. But given Caddy's credentials, he shapes as a definite starter when the AFL's 17th club plays its first official game against Carlton in round two.

DION PRESTIA (Gold Coast, selection 9)
While eight others were selected before him, much of the AFL's pre-draft testing suggested Prestia was the best player on offer. Taking that into account, along with his solid build, Prestia looks certain to spend most weeks of the 2011 season in the Suns' senior team. A polished ball-winner, he'll amass plenty of points.

BRODIE SMITH (Adelaide, selection 14)
Given the retirements of Simon Goodwin and Andrew McLeod, the Crows will be keen to promote some youngsters in 2011. Already boasting a powerful build, Smith will certainly find his way onto Neil Craig's radar. His point-scoring credentials were underlined in the 2010 NAB AFL U18 Championships, during which he averaged 22 disposals, five clearances and six inside 50s.

BEN JACOBS (Port Adelaide, selection 16)
Port Adelaide is another team that is rebuilding, so look for Jacobs to find his way into the senior side within the early rounds of the 2011 season. A great athlete who is strong overhead, he was outstanding at the 2010 NAB AFL U18 Championships, winning All-Australian honours and averaging 29 disposals at 69 per cent efficiency.

MITCH WALLIS (Western Bulldogs, selection 22)
The Bulldogs have plenty of depth in their midfield, but after he picked up 47 possessions in the TAC Cup Grand Final it seems unlikely Wallis will be spending much time in the VFL during 2011. A ball-magnet, Wallis could top 100 points on a few occasions if he gets a decent run in the middle of the ground.

JAMIE CRIPPS (St Kilda, selection 24)
After the heartbreak of losing grand finals in the past two seasons, the Saints are set to throw off the shackles in 2011. As a result, expect Cripps - a super-fast and highly-skilled defender - to get a run in the senior team early on.

JORDAN SCHRODER (Geelong, selection 54)
A dark horse for Dream Team coaches, Schroder has a body that will be able to cope with the rigours of AFL footy straight away. And given a hole has opened up in the Cats' midfield thanks to the departure of Gary Ablett, he looks a good chance to spend a bit of time in the senior team during 2011. While he was taken late in the draft, Schroder's coach at the Calder Cannons, Martin Allison, declared he was one of the most underrated players to be selected.

Cheers Luke

yep i'm in if theres spots left!

Just made my team, had to take a few risks to get some of the best players by buying cheap GC rookies that should get a start this season.. and Gilbert is in the forward line :)
