2013 Select... Prizm version 2?

I see Panini have put a preview up of Select on their blog... while I must admit I love the look, it looks very much like a second Prizm release though. Would love to hear other peoples thoughts on this product.

I will add though I am going to have to try and get me into a couple case breaks. Not only is DJ Hayden in this release, it features the first Matt McGloin licensed card (and an auto even! :thumbsup:) as well as the first auto of Sio Moore. It's like Raiders heaven!! :kick:
 
Couple of Ravens in too so will no doubt be chancing my hand. Agree looks like a Prizm re-loaded, must have had lots of shiny paper left over!!
 
Yeah looks to be a few first time player autos for a few of us collectors downunder here. I see Marlon Brown for your Ravens will get his first auto and for Trevor, Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham will get their first Rams autos too.

Really looking forward to getting me a Matt McGloin and Sio Moore auto. Hopefully the McGloin isn't going to break the bank to much or hopefully I can get into a couple breaks for this and pick one up.
 
I think they are a step up from Prizm, with the materials and materials auto cards especially nice. Also like the Hot Stars/Rookies even tho the design is a bit cheesy. Score also had Hot Rookies, but not with the cool flames. Looks like they recycled a few ideas with this set.
 
Like the look and the Select brand used to be top stuff in the 90's, so wanted to give this one a go. Was all fired up to have a box for Christmas, it was supposed to release today...but now it's pushed to the 18th. Will still try and squeeze in another order around then (as they were out of chrome last night too...GRRR) but it might be pushing it to get here for Chrissie breaking. :(

Will keep all posted if it's coming so yell out if there's base and stuff you need and I'll let you know how I go..

A box is on it's way for Xmas breakage - hopefully it doesn't get snagged up in the Xmas parcel rush somewhere ! I do like that D & A will send the OS stuff a day or so before the official US release date if they have them, might have been pushing it if they held it until after the 18th..

Could be cutting it fine Trevor but good luck, I'm very interested to see what this set looks like. Not much info around atm.
I'm still looking for a few good break options, only got a box of Totally Cert under the tree and that was just coz I just had to get something.
Not much has inspired me recently so I hope Select goes off.

Contenders is normally a big release and comes out on Boxing Day. I love the previews of Select from what I have seen on the Panini blog.

Good luck with the bust Trevor. Fingers crossed for a bunch of Raiders... :whistle:

On target for a Friday delivery, but figure if it gets held up it should come Monday at the latest. The delivery guy is pretty well trained these days ;-)

Always tough choosing what to break, so will be interesting to see how it pans out. And agree with Ekalb, Contenders is one of the better releases, especially as it seems to hold good value in it's auto's...and there's the variations and a sliiiim chance at a 24K gold card- if they're doing them again this year ?

It defs looks like nice stuff, it is very shiny which I'm not a huge fan of but I would be more inclinded to get this over Prizm especially with that "stripes" card. A case break might be the go here
 
I didn't too bad in my four box break of select picking up a patch auto of Tyler Wilson and an auto of Mychal Rivera. Not the Raiders rookie QB I was hoping to get an auto of, but at least it's something! Looks like more boxes have been put up a few more boxes, so may have to grab those up too. Someone else grabbed the first two boxes before I had the chance and there was a Nick Kasa auto in that one too, so fingers crossed these boxes are from a Raiders hot case and McGloin is in one of the others!

in saying that I have 5 boxes of Women of Marvel coming after I couldn't get the BBT5 I wanted so fingers crossed I get it before Xmas (shipping has been really slow on this one)
 
Purchased another 4 Raiders Select breaks. Got me a Matt McGloin in box #1 (a Prizm auto too #d/199!) :kick: Break 4 has not all sold out yet so hopefully I get something from that break too!
So now out of the 8 box breaks I managed to get myself into I have picked up a Mychal Rivera Auto, Tyler Wilson Jersey Auto and a McGloin Prizm Auto :thumbsup:
Trevor, I will take the Raiders curse off you and hope you get a loaded Rams box instead now... :whistle:
