The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

...and sorry *OZ, can't back you with the 'Artest is a great' comment buddy ;) He came up big today, but there were a couple of earlier games where he stunk it up...sorry mate!

The Lakers have such a torrid history of receiving abuse from the C's fans, that I think the board would excuse a bit of emotional celebrations from Laker fans.

*Graham...is this the right thread to start the annual 'you did it for the Celts in 2008, so we want the site banner changed to royal purple and gold' chant?? :D

I don't expect anyone to back me there. ;)

But the truth is, without his play and effort in the first 3 quarters of this game, even down the stretch when the pressude was releived, this would have been another Celtics victory over the Lakers, but Ron Ron made surre that that was'nt to be....

Much love and respect to our newest addition to the Laker organisation cause he not only earnt his first championship but he made damn sure we went back to back...

Watch the game a second time and you can't deny it, That's what makes him a great player, I don't care what anyone says, he's been as influencial as Rodman was for the Bulls, if not more and that's all we asked of him... :worthy:

Do we win without Ariza? Can we get it done with Ron? I don't care about his inconsistencies, he showed us he was ready today and without him we wouldn't be celebrating... :v:

Artest, Gasol, Odom and Fisher played huge and made some clutch plays tonight! Kobe really played and shot poorly, making a lot of turnovers and forcing a lot of tough shots while double teamed, a lot of missed defensive assignments..nearly all the time that would translate to a loss but the starting 5 really pulled through for the Lakers tonight. But Kobe made some big plays, drawing a foul while attempting a 3 pointer, knocking down free throws by attacking the rim, and nailing a big jumper with 5minutes to go which really put the momentum going for the Lakers. Not going to comment much on the officiating throughout the Finals though, a lot of blown calls for both teams.

Couldn't have described it better!

and i remember last season just before the finals critics were saying Kobe is nothing and cant win Championsihps without another big name sidekick (eg. Shaquille O'Neal). he & the lakers prove every1 wrong, then this season 2PEAT is off the CHAIN!!! spewing it couldve been 3! go lakers u freakin champs :D:D:D:D:D:D:D!!!!!!!!

big lakers fan.. proud to be able to say i watched one of their playoff games at the staples centre (had to throw that in) during this great postseason...

and i like the kobe... but pretty much pau is his big name sidekick... very hard to win this thing without two big names...

which was what made duncan winning with parker and ginobili pretty cool... (detroit winning in 2004 was a freak of nature in the peak of shaq vs kobe - i've wiped that series from my memories!)

I hate my life ...

:lol: chin up bud, they should still be proud of a great run

Ron makes the dumbest decisions at times, offensively he's a bit of a fluke (yes that includes his game winning shot against the Suns) but yes, without him definitely no win in G7. Defensively, he was outstanding, he's so strong that he can grab the ball away from you without slapping down on it. Not a great player in my mind Oz, but he was definitely crucial for the game and series.

GarnettFan4Life...give the Celts 2 more minutes and the outcome of the game could have been very different. Great run by them in the playoffs and a tough loss to swallow, but defensively they were outstanding, big baby was a monster with his box out and rebounding. Let the Laker fans have a moment in the limelight yea? :)

kills me so bad but I have to don't I :(

Oh Snap! Time to spend that fiddy I took off a Celtic Fan... Money well spent I say.. ;)

UD must be shattered it lost it's Kobe exclusive rights. Imagine what they would have done with this win and this MVP!

They would have all these Jersey and Ball autos, with inscriptions, embroidered stats, MVP........

And what will Panini do now? Will they start some memorabilia product line with Kobe?

Ersk

Great effort by the boys. Unfortunately Pierce and Allen didn't get going....KG looked good in the post but they never really went to him in the 4th. He set screens all 4th for the others but never posted up....Doc seemed to think they were all stuffed!
Props to Artest for his big game today. Props to Kome and his 6-24 shooting performance. Christ how many times did ESPN recap all his misses!! Wonder if he'll enjoy watching the game tape. He rebounded like a beast though. Congrats to Gasol - he earned this one.

Big props to Sheed for his awesome effort - he gave everything and word is he may retire now. As maddening as he was - he is a character and HAS character - he showed that this post season and I'll always respect him for his efforts in the post season/finals.

My man KG - what to say - he gave everything defensively but just couldn't keep LA off the boards - 3 is a paltry total. He reminds me of me - aged 36 - not much lift anymore - I spend my time boxing out the biggest guy and hope someone else gets the board!! Great game KG today - u took it to Pau in the post and shoulda seen the ball more although they did bring a double team towards the end...some big blocks too....

Anyway congrats to the Lakers - dare I say it - home court advantage - 4 points - the sort of margin that home court gives.

Whoa man what a game and series this game was THE best one ive ever watched!!!!So tense and full on from the 1st MIN.......

If it wasnt for Ron and our ofensive rebounding this game would have been long gone and all us Laker fans would be crying again....
But thats not the case!!!

Pau was huge down the stretch as was The Mamba sinking some big foul shots, how hard it must be sitting on the bench for most of the post season and sinking 2 critical foul shots aka The Machine!!!!!Props to him i say!!!!

On the other hand the Smeltics, Craptics what ever you wanna call them props to them they didnt give up for 1 sec!!!!

Since Gay Allen made NBA History GM2 hitting 8 3's he went i think 2-24 from down town or somthing like that....That hurt them big time!!!

Paula Pi$$ showed he clearly isnt The Truth.....
Rondo needs to develop a jump shot and work on his FT'S.....
I think with Perk being out actually helped them alot, well not enuf!!!!!!

Time to get my order in on NBA.COM, what other Laker fans are with me???

and in saying that one more thing too say...

Where is Chad when ya need him??

SUCK ON THAT BOSTON!!!!!!!!lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Staying in the spirit, what a beautiful thing it is to be able to celebrate to this track from this fine punk rock group 'straight outta Baustin' after the Lakers earnt their back to back championship in 2010 .... :D

Hmmmm maybe if the price is right ;)
