Roosters Co-captains

Pearce and Friend announced as Roosters co-captains.

Reasonable choices I thought,

Maybe Cordner instead of Friend?

I like hooker as captain - in the best position to influence teammates and ref... although we did pretty well with a fullback as (c) a couple of years ago!

I was disappointed to hear about co-captains as a Roosters fan ... to me it shows no one is really stepping up as a true leader in the squad !!

Isn't Friend out for the first 8-10 weeks or something, I think Pearce is probably the natural leader in the side, still developing but they decided to share it to take some pressure off him.

Yeah a lot of clubs are doing it but in my opinion it really doesn't say Captain ... and usually it is the leadership group that should take the pressure off ... But there can only be 1 Captain on the field ... ??

I know where your coming from I certainly like the fact the Dragons have had strong natural leaders Hornby / Creagh, but the Roosters are well coached and have a deep squad so I don't really think it ultimately has an impact on the field as they are all professional it probably shows more off field

After hearing Robbo explain his reasons for the 2 captains I am more confused as to how it will work on the field ....

Not really a problem as Friend is not due back until Wk 6 ....

Not a fan of co-captains myself, they should just pick one of these two douches. Pearce being the less douchier of the two.
