Well the college season is underway and after watching St Marys play Fresno State last night on ESPN i thought our own Patrick Mills deserved a season thread to keep monitor of his progression.
After the Olympics performance there has been some added pressure on Mills as expectations have now risen a fair bit.

There is actually 5 Aussie players on the St Marys team. We can mention them all, i just thought most interest would be in Mills due to his potential this year.

The highlights of Paddy against Fresno were awesome - so super smooth and you can just tell he reads the game so easily. He is really developing his game to an extremely high level - especially his mid rage jumper. He has an awesome handle and can work in heavy traffic with the best of them. He kinda reminds me of a cross between Nash and Iverson. This guy will be a solid NBA player no question. And good on him - I cant help but feel really proud of what this guy is doing.

I have known Patrick since he was 15, the kid can flat out play and if no major obstacles get in his way, should be able toplay at NBA standard. He was the only Aussie to really step up in the AUs vs US game at the olympics.

Just thinking where he might go, his running game might be good in Phoenix with a aging Nash, I reckon he would fit great in that system or any fast scoring team.

I can't believe I'm the first to point this out, but it's "PATTY" Mills, not Paddy.
Hence Patty his a nicname for PATRICK.
Someone should change the title of the thread, sounds like we're supporting an Irish basketball player.
But he's been great so far averaging 19.8 ppg, the kid can play. Hope he goes lottery this year

He put up better numbers last year when Vanderbilt was winning more games, hope this doesn't hurt his draft stock.
Mills is still putting up 20 ppg and St Mary's are 8-1, leading their conference.
He's been a bit shallow in apg and rpg though but I guess as long as they are getting the W.

I dont know if there is a thread for this bloke so sorry if I started this when I could have posted it somewhere else, but did anyone just see that college game between St Mary's and St Clara on ESPN and the clutch 3 pointer Patty Mills hit with 2.6 seconds to go? 31 points to not bad considering how he was shooting from behind the arc.
Was it just me or did anyone else jump of the couch yelling when he nailed that three? Awesome game to watch. A lot more entertaining then a lot of NBA games I might add as well..... go the boy from down under.....
Anyways, had to get that off my chest, no one here to share it with so you all had to put up with it....
btw: final scores were St Mary's 63 St Clara 62.
