I'm a footy kid, someone explain this sport

Game was derived from Rugby Union in England in 1895 and has gradually evolved into the game today with 13 players per side. acts of foul play can see players dismissed from the field (like a red card in Soccer) or given a 10 minute Sin Bin on the sidelines for a professional foul, it is played on a rectangular field and when a tackle is effected there is a play the ball, there are 6 tackles per set on most occaisons except where a ball goes 'dead' over the in goal line or there has been a fumble and a turnover off possession, on the 5th tackle there is generally a kick to gain field advantage.
The ball must be passed backwards from one player to another and the defensive players must be 10m behind each play the ball, points are scored like this-try 4 points, penalty goal & conversion 2 points and field goal 1 point, hope this is helpful in a brief way but I suggest for a better insight you go to the NRL.com site that will provide a better explanation or even the WANRL.com site, even wikipaedia, the code is an international game with a very good competition in England so try the RFL.co.uk and just generally surf the web to find info, Rugby League Project, Zero Tackle & League Unlimited should also prove useful, also look up Sean Fagan who is a historian.
P.S. in 2019 you'll be able to be at the State of Origin game in Perth!.
