Jordan Rapana extends to end 2019, huge for Canberra, close to the best winger in the comp last year.
Junior Paulo to miss round 1 in relation to an off field incident in 2015 while contracted to the Eels. I believe this was a road rage incident where he was charged with careless driving and common assault and recently plead guilty. The punishment also includes having missed the nines and the All Stars match both of which he was never going to play so I guess that is a win for Canberra.
I have no dramas with the punishment but gees it would be nice to some some recidivist offenders finally miss a few games. I won't mention any clubs or player names but the individual is often the centre of attention when on the drink.

I was a big fan with the punish handed down to peni terepo from us the other day, with papalii's record of driving he should be facing similar. One positive is that josh didn't try and hide from the club
Old James Roberts from the Broncos should be rubbed out of the game for a lengthy suspension he doesn't realise how good he has it in life

Nothing on Papa, pretty sure the club and NRL integrity unit won't make a call until his matter is finalised in court.
Same with Dave Taylor, he will certainly miss matches as he plead guilty but he is not fully contracted to Canberra yet

It will be interesting to see what happens in court next week with Radradra and the outcomes from that?

Scott Schulte could be a smokie for the wing spot. former Cowboys U20s player. Has really stepped it up at preseason training to earn a 9s spot but strained his hamstring on the Monday before they left for NZ

Dave Shillington retires effective immediately due to chronic injuries.
Was at the top of his game in 2009/10, certainly one of the better props running around at that time.

Yeah Shillo was a gun when at his peak but you could tell from last season he was on the slippery slope down hill.
I was very disappointed in the Roosters admin when they bought in the likes of Mason/O'Meley/Nutley/Myles and let the likes of Shillington and Tupou go. We never saw the best of him!

Yeah Canberra definitely got the best of him and I was sad to see him go but Stuart made the right call.

Croker 4-6 weeks, knee was dis located. Canberra a bit light on first few rounds, Paulo suspended, Croker and Baptiste injured and if Taylor is registered he will surely cop a suspension for his drug charges.
Love to see young Cotric get a go but I think Stuart will play it safe and put Jordan Turner in the centers.
