Shipping speed to/from US

I have found out why everything's a bit slower. Letters are still the same (about 10-14 days depending on day of the week) but parcels now have an additional security check (in the US). This has added a couple of days to shipping times, and Australia Post is also charging an extra $9. It looks like almost 3 weeks is going to be the standard from now on, though I think the expensive courier services may not be affected.

But seriously, it sucks that shipping takes so long and still costs so much

And with the christmas festivities near, the mail will be more slow everywhere for the saturation.
