Not just talking about on here, I mean in real life.

Got an out of office on his email saying he's "currently out of the office for an extended period of time".
I also now can't find him on Facebook and his twitter seems to be gone too.

I'm a bit concerned, all I have is his postal address.

Does anybody know him personally and can check that he's ok?

I was just thinking recently how odd it is that he never seems to post on message boards any more. I hope he's alright. He seems like a great character (one of those people who's character shines through in what he typed - for better and for worse!). And of course he has a stunning Pippen collection. Hopefully he'll post in this thread soon to let us know he's doing ok.

After he got married he gradually dropped out more and more from the hobby scene. Got to meet with him at a trade show a couple years ago.

Don't expect him back anytime soon....asked us to delete his account....we asked him just to have a break and he was insistent.

Don't know much more than that.

Quick search found him on some subaru forums (recently)....guess he's just bailed on the cards for whatever reason.

Most of the oldies don't post much here anymore TBH. A couple of years ago, this place was pretty much buzzing with posts and threads throughout the day. A bit sadly, but understandably, the oldies have left for greener pastures. Life gets in the way, work gets in the way, family gets in the way. Even our mods used to be very active but not so much anymore.

Wow asking to delete his acct it has to be more reasons why hed want that.

Its like banning yourself from casino coz u didnt want yourself to be losing and be part of it at all

Change of hobby? Guess not.

Maybe he finally thinks he spends a lot of $$$ on cards and hits him hard that its time to stop and put the $$$ on better plans.

I was wondering about Slobby as well. Back in the HK days, he used to absolutely make it rain with unbelievable Pippen mail days. It's interesting you mentioned that he began to stop collecting after he got married. Maybe just moving on with his life, but maybe he got the ultimatum that some women give, "Cards, or me!?"

A few years ago my wife was really getting frustrated with me and collecting. It got to the point where the heat I was feeling for collecting wasn't worth the enjoyment I got from it. I nearly quit altogether too. It's much better now, but I definitely have limits.

Hopefully Slobby will be back. And hopefully he didn't sell off his collection.
