Pokémon GO Discussion and picture thread

Finally landed a Porygon today out of a 5km egg.
Sitting on a few evolves till I have enough for a good Lucky Egg session and hopefully break the Level 25 barrier, need 50,000 pts.
Should not be far off the Pikachu evolve myself, have him set as my buddy and caught 3 this morning.
 
Up to 130 Seen and 130 Caught.
Have one 10km egg on the go, ever hopeful for the big Lapras hatch .. do wish me luck :thumbsup:
82 candies towards my Charizard, what a long haul this has been.
On the evolve calculator i'm looking at 1500 Charizard, with IV of 95 should be great.
 
Hoping my new phone arrives tomorrow, despite being on an RDO, I'll be making the trip into the office to collect if it does lol - hunting for the weekend!!

Got home last night, and checking a local Facey page, only to read that 20mins before I got home, Porygon was outside my house, like DANGIT!! That's the 2nd time he's been around and I've missed him - the first was actually like 10 seconds from home, at about 8:30pm with my kiddies asleep, and Wifey at work. So I couldnt go and get him.
 
So my new phone came in on Friday when I was on an RDO.
Called into the office and picked it up. Had some hunting done over the weekend, glad to be back in action!

Some new mon include; Venusaur (caught), Porygon (caught) & Golem (evolved).

Hunted down some more Charmander and another Charmeleon on Saturday night, still need a solid one to evolve towards Charizard. My best Charmeleon is 390CP and my highest CP Charmander is 579, but my BEST Charmander is 183, lol.

Switched my Buddy over to Pikachu, but might switch him back out for Charmander/Charmeleon for those Candy.

Picked up another 2 Onix on the weekend, still lacking a high CP/IV one - 230 my best right now. Grabbed another couple of Scyther, up to 21 candy. Magikarp candy back up to 141, and hatched another damn Eevee from a 10km egg.

Sitting at 128 caught of 129 seen (still Snorlax evades me - only seen the 1).
 
Up to 128 caught and 130 seen.

Added Chancey, Omastar, Porygon, Nidoqueen, Hitmonchan, Rapidash and caught a 1300 CP Blastoise and Victreebel over the weekend.

3 Candy away from Clefable too.

Had a slightly eventful night last night and on the way home from work.

Started my run with catching my 2nd Dragonite. Spent a LOT of balls getting him, like 80-odd!! And he was only 636CP. Got home, and checked the map, only to see there was another in the exact same spot! Decided NOT to go out, with 25 balls left, wasnt worth the drive JUST to lose those balls and possibly NOT get him!

Best thing, wifey got her first Dragonite! She was ecstatic!

Since we had expelled most our supplies, we decided we needed a Poksestop run. Grabbed a fair few supplies, and a couple of smaller 'Mons on our way into town where we like to sit. To my surprise when we moved on, I had an egg hatch! Forgot about my 10km egg on the go. Dreading another damn Eevee, I was blessed by the Poke Gods, and pulled out Snorlax! 1757CP, with decent stats (about 91% IV). Only downside, it has Body Slam (40) for it's 2nd move.

Another Pikachu added to my supply, some more Abra's, couple Charmanders (evolved a better Charmeleon @ 858CP), evolved another Nidoqueen (1535CP), caught a couple Growlithe's putting me back up to 30 candy, a new PB for Machoke (622CP), and a couple more Onix' - finally got something semi decent with a 525CP one!! One thing we noticed about our Onix', between my wifey and I, we saw three variations for Onix' move sets.
Caught another Kangaskhan, only because he was 666CP. Thought it was fitting for the evil looking critter!

Caught a crap tonne of Magikarp, putting back up to 206 candy already! Evolved a couple Eevee's just because, and ended up with 2 Vaporeons (1715CP & 1705CP) and a Flareon (1579CP), and finally a couple more Omanyte's putting us closer to Omastar (on 30 candy). Got home, and had like 237/250 pokemon in my bag!

Now sitting on 129 seen/caught Pokemon. CLOSE!!!
 
Now I have come to the conclusion ... that what is first on my sightings list, is usually what I get out of the egg that hatches.
Hatched a 10km egg today, Pinsir ( to say i was not amused was some what of an understatement) and yes he was first on my sightings list.
This has happened to me with every Eevee I have hatched too and many of the 2km and 5km eggs have worked out this way.
I am up to 550+ Magikarp candies, just waiting on a decent Magikarp to evolve, have 2 x 136 CP both sitting on mid 80's for IV.
Just don't think its worth evolving one of those?!
 
Ouch, a Pinsir on a 10KM??? I've ripped on Eevee's but I'll take one of them over Pinsir, ha ha.

I can vouch that those Magikarp aren't likely to make a "worthy" Gyarados. Mine was 141CP I think, and whilst "simply amazing", he didnt REALLY have a decent IV - I think around 80% or something. I just couldnt hold myself back from evolving to Gyarados.

Hatched a new Koffing so I evolved him into a 1272CP Weezing. Just because. And finally I caught another Charmander, and a 151CP Magikarp, too.
When I got home, I saw a Pikachu was like 2mins away, but I chose against going back out.

This morning, before leaving for work I caught ANOTHER Porygon (362CP) and a small Dratini just around the block at home - more and more Porygon's appearing at home, this is great!

Hatched a Charmander this morning which takes me to well over the 100 candies to evolve my Charmeleon.
Gonna crack that egg shortly and do some evolutions.

Majority I've seen from eggs are better than those found in the wild, I guess they're bred that way, kinda makes sense.

No power at home last night, so I spent a good hour hunting before actually going home, then I sent the wifey and kids to her sister's place to keep warm, and I went out for another hunt, err, I mean to charge my phone in the car!!

Nothing awesome, some more Pikachu's still nothing worth of evolving. Up over 100 candies now for Horsea, which means I should be set to go for Gen 2 for Kingdra. Another couple Dratini's still can't evolve a Dragonite (have caught 2, but want to evolve one). Caught more Magikarp, up to 241 now, so not long before I can evolve another Gyarados!!

They are usually much better than caught in the wild Pokemon.

I had 3 x charmander all with minimum of 80% IV that I hatched and the 93% IV Charmeleon I evolved was also a hatched Charmander.
Evolved my Charmeleon yesterday, great to finally get Charizard ... with the worst fkn attacks ever :cry:
Hatched another Snorlax today, which was great for me to power the hell out of the other Snorlax I have.
 
Just saw Niantic has upgraded their server and are shutting down the scanning sites such as fastpokemap again

If they follow through I'm probably done playing tbh.

Yeah I noticed yesterday that fastpokemap was not working at all.
There is another site that only covers the Sunshine Coast that seems to be working today, not sure how well but its updating.
Really can't see me playing, the way Niantic wants us to play, running around like a chook with its head cut off.

In other news, caught another Dragonite last night, was only a 600-odd CP one. Only took a couple balls this time. Caught some more Magikarp, but apart from that, was a really quiet night.
Putting some thought into going for a hunt tonight, but I think we have family coming around.

I got work tomorrow, so may not be able to do much.

Well I went for my first Poke mission, tracker free today :cry:
Had a wartortle on the sightings list and could not track him down, only need 2 squirtle candies to evolve my first Blastoise (caught 2 wild ones).
I know Niantic are trying to keep the game clean as they can but this is only going to drive people away from the game.
Lots of people are bored with already, no sign of Gen 2 on the horizon, still no word on Trading release date.
I know they are looking long term with this game but if they don't pull their shit together soon, they will lose 50% of their players.
I love it mainly for the exercise side of it, I am going for a walk anyway, might as well catch a few Mons along the way and hatch some eggs.
 
My brother loves Pokemon (33 haha) so I'm turning him into a Pokemon for Xmas.

Not sure what animal, power, colour he will be yet but i will show you guys if anybody is interested. I drew custom sketch cards but stopped 2 years back.

Sucks huh! There's no legit way to track in the game, we NEED something!
I didnt even know in the original release you could track and have the compass tell you which way to head. At least bring that back!

I had a Pikachu on the radar the other day, but I couldnt find him. Drove around in circles only to pull the pin and go home.

GL with evolving Blastoise! I've caught just the 1, and yet to evolve him. My Wartortle is higher CP than my Blastoise, ha ha.

I definitely get that people get upset when hunters use maps, but I can't imagine how many have completed their Dex's withOUT the assistance of some form of radar/map.
But without it, I'd have not caught a heap of mine (at least yet). I mean;
Venusaur, Blastoise, some Pikachu's, Sandslash (I did evolve him after catching one), Kadabra, Graveler (I did evolve him after catching one), Onix, Haunter, Lickitung (I did hatch one after catching one), Porygon, Snorlax (hatched one before I caught one) & Dragonite.


Side note, have you noticed in your Pokedex now (if you havent complted it already) that if you spot a Gym and there's a mon you havent seen before, it now appears in your Dex as Seen 1 Caught 0.

I'm back to 129/130 now, as a Gym I checked out has a Machamp there, and I'm still yet to see one - close to evolving one.
