2015 collecting goals

Anyone start thinking about theirs yet? Since I met my 2014 early on in the piece, I already started contemplating what I will be collecting next year. Early I know, but sometimes boredom makes you do these things!

A couple weeks back I posted my JR pc for sale, now I am glad I didn't sell it! Decided that next year I will try and grab as many of those panini parallels as I can get of his. At the same time upgrading my legend autos.
 
There are waaayyyy too many Kobe's for me to chase like I used to, so when Hoops was released and I saw there was only 33 Kobes in it, including parallels, Ive decided to chase them all.

Every other set for 14-15 will only get my money for base, basic inserts, jerseys and auto's. All parallels can get lost. Lol

Quietly hoping Longley is absent this year so that I can chase the low numbered ones I missed this year. Im glad they brought him back, but in every set is way too much for a player of his calibre

LOL I don't think I will ever get all of JR's parallels, but will endeavor to get as many as I can.
 
My I had three main goals in 2014:
  • Get my Faried PC to 200 cards
  • Finish at least 1 of my set chases
  • Find memorabilia to fill my display cabinet
How did I go?
  • I smashed the Faried count by April / May, now having over 350+ and 200 rookie year cards alone
  • Blew up all but one of those sets for various reasons, I need only 1 card to complete the 12-13 select in flight prizm set, Ricky Rubio #/25
  • Have mostly filled it pretty well, picture below. (farieds draft night ball, signed Magic Johnson ball, panini authentic signed cap, game used sharks hockey puck - signed, Magic Johnson signed book to name a few items in there)

I'm not fully settled on my 2015 goals, however:
  • Raise the percentage of the Faried rookie catalogue to 90% (currently hovering around 79% complete) - completed 23/04/2015
  • Pickup both a Pistons & Spurs T-Mac auto, and a prime patch from each team
  • Finish the crusade and prizm sets (doing both at the same time wasn't wise!)
  • Start a small Kyle Lowry Raptors side PC once the above point is done - ongoing

Since i am new my only goal for 2015 is to get over 50 Steven Adams cards currently at around 19.
I will attempt to collect as many of his PA cards for his second year.

@nichj99 dang mang my next PC is going to be Kyle Lowry as well hahaha.
 
To be honest I reckon I might start scaling back a little bit more...getting a bit over people wanting top dollar for cards and then wanting to buy yours for bargain prices!!! the hobby has lost a lot of credibility for me...

Having said that, I have changed my focus, I am offing a lot of my kobe pc, sold 370+ base the other day and am selling off cheper/mid inserts and probably my 104 game used/floor/ball cards if anyone is interested!!! also a lot of my westbrook cheaper/mid stuff like refractors and lower autos are up for sale, really am looking to do the following:

-keep adding more high end westbrooks
-maybe start a nice small collection of nicer steph curry and anthony davis cards
-keep adding nicer kobes, have around 50 autos, so maybe push that up to around 100
-keep adding nicer lebrons, have about 25 autos so maybe get that to around 50
-find a reasonably priced kobe or lebron logoman....yeah right!!!
 
I think for 2015 I will really challenge myself to get some quality cards. Don't have a patch card yet so that will change and I also intend to buy some Basketball Memorabilia (anyone know a good place besides EBay?)

And to improve my Noel/Wolters collection.
 
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo over 50 million variations of the same card.
It was fun when there was 1-2 products a year that had rainbow chases now its ridiculous. Regular card rainbows, insert rainbows, auto rainbows, GU rainbows, rainbow rainbows all from the same product then the next product drops and its on again!

I'll probably keep doing what I've been doing this year, only buying the lower numbered htg stuff.

Agreed. I very much got over the parallels so went back to chasing rookie year only (unless a new card is really nice looking). Found it to be a much more satisfying hunt!
 
I don't want to look at what my 2014 goals were. I know I strayed way off what I wanted to achieve.

My goal for 2015 is to hit 250 different Paul George cards. I'm currently sitting at 93. 157 additional shouldn't be too much of an issue with the amount of cards Panini is bringing out and the fact that I am going to cut back on collecting other side PC guys.

I would also like to collect as many of the 2013-14 PG Immaculate Jumbo Patches #/10 as I can. Currently I'm sitting on 2 (mail day to come as soon as my COMC delivery arrives).

I also want to get out to some card shows in NSW.
 
My aims have changed somewhat in the last few weeks as I choose to boycott most of Panini and chase quality over quantity.

My goals for 2015 are:

Reach 50% of Spurs Immaculate Cards (currently at 10.27% or 34/331)
Obtain each of the 2014 released Spurs bobbleheads
Complete my Spurs vintage collection 1973-1989
Reach 50% in Spurs All Time Roster autos (currently at 15.44%)
Add signed jerseys of D Rob, Gervin, Parker, Duncan, Ginobili, Kawhi and Kyle Anderson to PC
 
Prob go for some auto's of the Balkan Players rc's But wait till most of the years products already out and see what i like
 
Hit the 1500 mark for my garnett collection. Only a little over a hundred from that thanks to certain members here (you know who you are).
 
2015 goal for me will be to try and get the Clarence Weatherspoon want list to under 40 (currently 44).
Out of the 44 I need, 16 are printing plates and I think half a dozen weren't even made so reducing the list is proving to be difficult!
