Another quality win for us!

CLEVELAND -- LeBron James scored 30 points, 24 in the second half, and Cleveland wore down the aging Boston Celtics for a 104-93 victory on Sunday, the Cavaliers' second decisive win over one of the East's premier teams in less than a month.

The Cavaliers were closer to full strength with the return of forward Antawn Jamison, who had 15 points and 12 rebounds after missing one game with a sore knee. Anderson Varejao had 17 points and 10 boards. Last month, the Cavs beat the Celtics by 20 in Boston. In that game, center Shaquille O'Neal sustained a serious thumb injury and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Cleveland doesn't appear to be missing him right now.

Ray Allen scored 20, while Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett had 18 apiece for the Celtics. But Boston's Big Three was no match for Cleveland's Chosen One.

James added eight rebounds, seven assists and three blocks in another MVP-type performance. He also shook off being accidentally poked in the left eye in the third quarter by Garnett.

Leading by eight after three, the Cavs scored the first nine points in the fourth. Cleveland's defense, which usually gets tougher in the final 12 minutes, forced the Celtics to take bad shots and Boston missed its first eight shots in the fourth.

The Cavs appeared in control and on their way to a runaway win when Jamison's basket made it 91-74. But Pierce hit a 3-pointer and Allen followed with one of his own as the Celtics, who went scoreless for a span of 7:09 bridging the third and fourth quarters, fought back.

James, though, converted a three-point play to put the Cavs back in control and his two free throws put Cleveland up 101-89 with 2:03 left.

James then capped Cleveland's 29th home win by crossing over Kendrick Perkins near the foul line, driving inside and dropping a left-handed layup while being fouled. James seemed annoyed the Celtics would have the audacity to put Perkins on him.

Rajon Rondo had 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Celtics.

The teams were meeting for the first time since Feb. 25, when O'Neal hurt his thumb when he was fouled by Boston's Glen "Big Baby" Davis. Cleveland fans have been angered by TV replays, which appeared to show Davis grabbing and squeezing O'Neal's thumb after the injury occurred.

Before the game, Davis strongly denied he tried to hurt O'Neal, a fellow LSU product and a player he has always revered.

"I did not try to break Shaq's hand," Davis said. "That's crazy. Why would I try to do that? I wasn't trying to grab his hand. You know how you try to frustrate somebody or just mess with them, get his balance off? That was a freak accident, really."

Davis was aware of the accusations. "I heard about it," he said. "I don't even remember touching his hand."

Davis was booed when he entered the game in the first quarter and every time he touched the ball. He expected the rude treatment.

"I'm not popular at all anywhere," he said. Davis added to his villainous reputation in the second quarter when he was faked off his feet and flattened Jamison, who was setting up to shoot. In the third, he sent Varejao sprawling into the front row with a shoulder bump.

With James guarding him, Pierce missed his first six shots and didn't score until 1:51 remained before halftime. Pierce did make three free throws in the final second to bring the Celtics within 54-48 at the break.

Boston had to feel fortunate to be so close since Pierce and Allen were a combined 3 of 14 from the field and Garnett was in foul trouble with three personals.

Game notes
Since undergoing surgery, O'Neal been home in Florida. James said he periodically checks in with his teammate. "I'm giving him his space," he said, laughing. James isn't concerned about the center not returning in tiptop shape. "He knows how to police himself, literally," James said of O'Neal, who has previously worked as an auxiliary policeman. "He'll be fine. He knows what's at stake and he's not going to jeopardize himself or jeopardize our team." ... Rondo needs 92 assists to pass Bob Cousy's single-season team record. Cousy had 715 assists for the Celtics in 1959-60.

Been busy lately but still able to watch the Cavs games...

I cant say we're dominating lately coz the teams we played against in the last couple of weeks are not really playoff bound team except for the Bulls (maybe) & the Celtics (we beat convincingly, didn't we?)....

So after we went 0-3 after the allstar break, we won 13 of 14 games and the only lost was to a tight $$$ Bucks... Worth mentioning that Lebron didnt play in that Bucks loss... ;) Also worth mentioning how Bogut has been playing this season is awesome... I hope he gets an Allstar nod next year...

Next 2 games are West roadtrips against the CP3 less Hornets and the TP9 less Spurs... And after that we wont be traveling to the west coast until June...

Go Cavs!!!

im hoping the bulls get back in now that they getting some players back.

The cavs v bulls game was very interesting. Bull almost won that one.

Hopefully it is a sign to come that they have some talent on the bench that can develop further.

I think sometimes unknowns trouble good teams more than teams they know. Same think in english premier league if you watch that.

Overall CAVS are looking good this year.

Time to bring this thread back to life!

Game 1 is less than 8 hours away and will be up before then to watch how Lebron and Shaq play after not doing so for a while... My thinking tells me that they will be just fine and will win in double digits.;)

GO CAVS!!!

yeah have to agreed with u there. LeBron will come out with his game face on. I still think the series will be close as the youth of the bulls will help against older legs ie. Shaq, Jamison, Big Z.

Interesting to see how Noah will stand up this series i really think if the bulls are gonna do anything i think he will be the player to spur them on. We know LeBron and Rose will do there thing but lets see what the young bulls learnt from last years playoffs.

What surprises me on all the articles I read these days is the non-existing mention of Andy. I would love to see Noah vs Andy, really than anything else. Though I believe the Bulls are a young, talented but unfortunate with all the injuries they have this season, I strongly feel that they will be swept by the Cavs. I suspect that they lost alot of energy just to get to the playoffs but who knows.

I'll just watch and enjoy the series...;)

No need to hide your post. :)

Game 1 is history and as I was hoping, Shaq played great as he always been in the past playoffs when he won his 4 NBA rings. Very well rested and I liked that spin move he did on Noah. That was a very nasty one and it feels like it was ten years ago...

The trade for Shaq is really paying off early in the post season as Noah, Miller and Taj Gibson have foul troubles in the first half which set the tone for us to operate in the middle.

It got close late in the game but as expected this one is good as gone for the bulls. We had 12 blocked shots with a couple from Lebron's signature blocks, the chase downs... :D We also outrebounded the bulls by 12 courtesy of 15 boards from our energy guy Varejao! Mo Williams looks determined as well in this game to prove something after dissappearing in the playoffs last year... He had 19pts and 10 assists. Jamison did his part by chipping in 15 pts and 10 rebounds...

Next game is on Tuesday 10:00 am Sydney time...

GO CAVS!!!

That spin move would make you think he was 28 not 38!
I drool at the thought of Cavs V Lakers in the finals!

Well done for a 38 year old veteran...

The rest surely gave him a great boost.
Hope he can sustain it till the Finals. I know he will...he's determined to get that 5th ring.

Game 4 tomorrow and hoping that we come out strong in the first half so we dont have to dig out in the end...

Even though we lost game 3, Im still happy that we were able to have a chance in the end.... These bulls are actually better than expected... :D

Cavs wins 4-1
Hats off to the Bulls as they gave a gallant effort.

Next up..Celtics. This will be a great tough series for the Cavs. Not expecting blow-out games. My prediction... Cavs 4-2

Hey guys just thought id post up here if anyones interested, as we all know LeBron likes to get a new tattoo before the playoffs, his latest tattoo he got for the 09/10 playoffs is on his left leg and reads HISTORY, he already has WITNESS tattooed on his right leg so now its complete- "WITNESS HISTORY" now we just gotta wait and hope we are all witnesses in LeBrons first championship...

This is the series I've been waiting for for 2 years...

We got game 1!!!

What a dunk by Mo Williams which is really surprising to lot of people including me! That dunk really started the decisive run when we were behind by 11 in the 3rd...;)

GO CAVS!!! :D :D :D

Man...... thought the Cavs were gonna lose that one the way Lebron was deferring & stuff with his elbow in the first half..... but then he started to take some shots & was hitting them + the play of Hickson, Delonte & of course Mo was what kicked them back into gear.... nice win by you guys!
