The Official BOSTON CELTICS thread

Jimbo I think you need to learn how to use the site. The team threads ALWAYS contain at spoilers and even minute to minute updates. IF you don't wan to know the game don't even click on anything in the basketball chat section and if you do don't bother whining to us about it. We will just call anyone that does stupid.

As for KG....Yeah well....I'm still pissed even after a great day.

I hope Doc went off at him as Doc was unsure of why he didn't come back out at half time. KG should be the main man waving a towel on the bench but non he is in the rooms thinking of himself before the needs of the team. So much for ubuntu...

Celts will still win the series and a game away but today should not have happened period. You don't win games before the ball is tossed up.

Team threads have been like that for a long time now jimbo! Scroll back through this one and take a look! :woot:

You're right Chad, KG should've been more vocal, in support, and showing some leadership, even if he's on the bench.

Any lingering speculation regarding a return by Kevin Garnett in these playoffs should be coming to an end soon. According to sources, Garnett is seeking a date to have surgery on his right knee sooner rather than later.

“The knee is hurting him too bad right now,” one source said. “He just can’t play.”

According to another person with knowledge of the situation, Garnett sought advice from non-Celtic medical sources on remedies that could allow him to play through the end of this season. And there were points in recent weeks when it seemed the program of rest and rehab were working and that Garnett would be able to go. But when the soreness returned and increased, the options went away.

“Injuries like this are really a tricky thing,” one medical person who has worked on NBA players said. “Most of the time you just need to rest it and let the area calm down, but sometimes it’s different.”

Contrary to statements from the Celtics [team stats] that surgery was not discussed in the Garnett case, word is the team did consider it when Garnett’s right knee suffered its most serious twist in Utah on Feb. 19.

The subject of whether surgery could alleviate the problem was raised, but rest looked like the better option - particularly since having a procedure on the knee could have ended Garnett’s season.

Garnett was said to be alternately confident and pessimistic on his chances to return, but he told teammates Wednesday he was probably done.

That it wasn’t a foregone conclusion (for weeks, as some suggested) is supported by the fact Garnett worked out Thursday.

“We talked late (Wednesday) night and he said, ‘Let me come in and work out,’ ” coach Doc Rivers said. “He said, ‘I’m really worried.’ And that scared the (expletive) out of me. But even then we thought he would be OK.”

Sorry Chad my mistake!

I'll ignore your hostility and associate it to your post-game stress.
And for the record I certainly wasn't "whining" mate.

Well as much as I"m a KG fan, I can't understand the walking out either. We all know he's wired a bit different to the rest of us - if not, go check out his reaction to winning the title last yr...
We know he's said he can't stand watching games he can't play in but I entirely agree. He should be watching and helping all he can, not giving it a run and then saying he can't stand it.

EG - lets say he sees something or has some knowledge on a player that he can pass onto BBD or Powe to help with the way they play D......suck it up KG.

As for Ray Allen - 1-12 FFS!!!

Glad to see Marbury has worked out. Airballs a wide open three and then the very next posession down the floor, opts out of a wide open jumper and forces it in for a turnover.

Guess we'll just have Rondo play 48!!! 13-6-8in about 15 minutes!! BBD playin well and KG sideline going insane.....

Yeah was going to edit that post, KG looks like he's doing what's needed from him right now. Davis is having a good one so far.

The C's are in big trouble - no doubt....they only look good with Rajon on the floor. Perk and BBD in foul trouble again and the bulls are living at the foul line and their short guys driving for short jumpers or kicking out to Miller. Basically the C's are getting outplayed.

I honestly hope that you guys get up and get this win. KG's loss is big but I hope the rest of the team move on and play the way they played last year.

Well that ain't happening at the moment. Allen has been invisible and Pierce certainly hasn't been superman! Perk dominated while he was in the game but he was only in 9 minutes!

Gonna need a much better effort in the 2nd half. Maybe KG should pick up a T or 2 to get them fired up!!!:lol:

Still early yet, no need to panick. Hopefully Perk can contribute a bit more in the 3rd and 4th. Hopefully Ray ray and PP are saving their best till last!

What Powe up to?
