Thought I would start a thread to see what people think of their teams Round 1 side.

Brown has all but confirmed the Knights will look like this:

Knights:
Jaelene Feeney, Chanel Mata’utia, Pat Mata’utia, Dane Gagai, Akuila Uate, Jarrod Mullen, Trent Hodkinson, Kade Snowden, Tyler Randall, Sam Mataora, Robbie Rochow, Jacob Saifiti, Jeremy Smith. Interchange: Pauli Pauli, Daniel Saifiti, Korbin Sims, David Bhana.

The Knights look interesting with 5 rookies; Daniel Saifiti /Jacob Saifiti / Jaelen Feeney / Pat Mata'utia / David Bhana. A few Supercoach cheapies. A shameless plug now anyone interested in joining our OZ Card SuperCoach comp we still have a spot left

I thought Stockwell and Mamo would be starters seeing as how little experience there was but hey good on Browney for making change.

Cheers
Ross

Good looking Eels starting side, not sure about the bench.

Gotta say I'm surprised to see David Bhana in first grade for the Knights. He was never going to get close for the Warriors. A very hard worker and intelligent to boot, but no x factor.

As exciting as the Warriors two new recruits are it will be all for nought if they cannot shore up the midfield defence. Unfortunately, there are no noted defenders in any of the grades in the centres/wings. Could be a long season, but equally could be a fantastic season f they can fix that area. My disappointment at not getting an Albert Vete trading card in Traders has just been compounded by him likely to miss out on a FG spot for round 1. Can't understand that? Roache is an exciting up and comer, hopefully he will be more well-rounded than the usual rocks and diamonds rookies the team produces.

Eels look great on paper. Got my tickets for round one game, will be interesting to see how Foran goes.

Raiders look to have a strong bench.

i am surprised that Blake austin has been named on the bench as opposed to starting, i just find it odd. any thoughts on this from others?

If it actually happens that way it's because he is coming back from shoulder surgery. If there is any doubt on him, I'd rather the Raiders not play him. It's only round one so why risk it?

His shoulder injury was much more serious than reported. If he had done it in the early rounds it would be a season ended. He has had no pre-season and minimal contact work, I expect him to drop off the bench TBH

Thanks guys didn't know the injury was that bad, agree hopefuuly they do drop him as he would be high risk if he has done mininal training

There's been some interesting selections, I agree with Dan for a team that has been talked up so much Parra's bench look shallow in depth, anyone missing? No back up hooker unless Pritchard gets a run so it looks like Peats plays 80, if he goes down during the year depth might hurt here.

Another of the sides talked up Manly don't look as formidable as some of the experts predict. The pack looks to lack something, Buhrer and Lawrence would help the balance IMO. I liked N Green when he was at St George and was always going to have to transition to the forwards but the jury is still out for me at the moment if he is up to it and a Rookie 5/8.

Cowboys / Broncs no surprises

Rabbitohs look pretty strong considering no Burgi twins, Walker gone, McQueen gone. Thought Grevsmuhl would have got the starting spot and Hunt over Auva'a...interesting

Dragons look like top 4 to me. ;)

Titans look gooooone but some nice rookies N Davis anybody know of him? We will finally get to see A Taylor play NRL which will be worth a look.

Tigers look stronger than I though they would and some depth to come back.

Roosters look weaker but in the same breadth they look strong with some class rookies it will be interesting to watch to see if they can hang in the comp for the return of Pearce / JWH / Cordner

Doggies...where are they going to get their points from?

Warriors, no Hurrell and Blake Ayshford for preference please this cant be right. McFadden first coach sacked Rnd6. Such a strong looking side but something isn't right even Johnson playing 6 seems a strange message to send.

Sharks, it hurts me to say but great looking team I couldn't for the life of me understand Bird to fullback, Flanno has the balance right and a nice bench with impact. No this couldn't be the year the break the drought, maybe the pack are a bit on the old side and injury and or suspension prone.

Panthers, Cartwright starting is a good move and for Gods sake please put the same team on the field two weeks in a row none of Cleary's shuffling all the time.

Anyway bring it on!

Kaysa has been rewarded for his efforts at training. I know as I've been watching him. He was impressive at 13 for Wenty v panthers the other week
Wicks only started contact 2 weeks ago and pinched a nerve in his neck in a crusher tackle v panthers. Should be right to play for Wenty this week but still hasn't tested his shoulder. He is coming back ahead of schedule. No need to rush him long season ahead
