Rob was a legend and answer my call for some super strong magnets by ripping apart a hard drive to get them and then sending them to me.

Much appreciated mate

I promised to show the final product and here it is. My new magnetic stirrer for my yeast starters.

Its basically a pc fan spinning with the magnets attached to hub, then that spins the magnetic stir bar in the flask causing that cool vortex and yeast in suspension. Meaning happier yeasties for me and adding a few million of them compared to not using a stir plate. :D

Now I can step up amounts from my yeast bank to pitching size in 24 hours, it so cool I want to put it on my bedside table

Cheers and thanks again Rob

you are far too young to be in a thread like this Jacko LOL

Tasting the fruits of my labour right now Marcus that the 1056 yeast the previous coke bottle starter system produced hehe

Nice work their mate. When we lived in Saudi my Dad made his own beer and wine in the house because the muslim religion doesn't allow alcohol!

Looks sweet chad, will have to come for a visit and taste the finished product now I am working down here and living at hoppers crossing. :woot:=D>
Rob

yeah but it cost $15 to make and those lab ones are hundreds! Also they get quite warm don't they?

I think my neighbours think I have a meth lab slobby but you would think the smell of malted barley on brew day is the give away.
