Kakoda Trail PNG

Hey everyone,

Heading out to PNG to do the Kokoda trail next month and was just checking if anyone on the boards has done the trek before. If so, any tip's on how to prepare for it and and anything that just made the walk a little easier.

Also any gear they took that they could'nt do without if they done it again.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

havent done kokoda trail but surveyed for 10 years in png. 1 check your travel agent for must list 2. good boots- my blue tongue steel caps got me through every thing 3 bottle of ISOCOL (green aligator on label) alcohol rub for cuts abrasions insect bites and muscle tiredness. 3 a mirror for shaving!! 4. get a Tok Pidgern language book- you get more out of trip and theyll laugh at you trying, 5. beer- dont drink the SP lager green can- made in vietnam no good drink the SP white can good drop made in Moresby good luck

I think it should be mentioned that it is the "Kokoda Track" not "trail"!!!

Either way have a safe trip!!
