i heard on sports tonight that carlton will use there #1 pick to snare kane ackland in the draft....

we will have to wait and see i guess...

They're using their #1 pick in the PRE SEASON DRAFT, not the ROOKIE DRAFT... And it is happening, they've already committed to it.

the pre season draft selections can be annouced weeks before the draft actually happens, with scott camporeale annoucing he was going to essendon before the pre season draft last yr

I don't mind big Barnaby I reckon he's alright. Also Deluca has the potential to be alright as well. I would have thought more leg speed for Carlton would have been more of an issue than a washed up ruckman who doesn't grab his chances with both hands. Cain had chances at Port, and far too many at St Kilda and showed nothing.

Just further to this...in yesterdays Herald Sun there was a little story saying Deluca (aged 24) had walked out on the club to pursue other opportunities.
