Report: Rondo, Pierce to play in world tour

According to a report from Chris Broussard of ESPN, Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce will each play in a world basketball tour scheduled to take place from October 30-November 9.

Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Derrick Rose are among others who will play in the tour, which will include stops in Australia, Puerto Rico and London. Broussard also reported that there is a possibility that Kevin Garnett will also play. Each player could be paid up to $1 million for the tour, which will take place only if the players and owners fail to agree on a deal to end the lockout.

For everyone asking about the Exhibition games in Australia. 1. Ill believe it when I see it 2. I won't play

im nervous about the tickets, im scared ill be at school or taking a dump when they are released and will most likely be sold out since they wont even last 6 hours. I dont care if im in thhe back row .... I'm going!

100% my fear as well...

I think if plans don't go ahead or if the event is not properly organised then potenially it's going to leave alot of fans very unhappy, dissapointed and bitter.....myself included.

Last time i booked a flight to Melbourne was to Supanova and the only 2 guests i wanted to see pulled out a week before. It sucked...

Il be shattered!

Everybody seriously needs to pray.. lol

Im selling my room off for this chance!

If it's a lockout bargaining chip as has been suggested we should be p1ss3d off also. Missing games, plus then being used as pawns played off against the league by the players.

If it doesn't happen just keep saving and go to the US and watch games there. I'm going to NY for a month next year and will be going to as many Knicks games as possible.

yeh im going to NY next year as well, defs seeing some knicks games but i think its because its pretty much an all star game, so this will be a game where whoever the ball is passed too, something special will happen. I'm really really excited but im only using like $100 on it, just gonna get any seats, wouldnt mind spending more on some closer seats but we'll see hoe we go.

wasn't it his son?

maybe i'm wrong, not what i'm hearing and unfortunately even if it is you'd think tarred with the same brush.

ALso a friend made this comment on facebook, pretty spot on -
To everyone who thinks the NBA games will go ahead in Melb on the 8th and 9th, while I would love it to happen I dont think anyone could do this inside 2 weeks without ALREADY HAVING BOOKED A VENUE !!!!

i desperatly hope your friend is far from right!! because this is a once in a life time oppertunity for some people.

They have been on it for 3 plus months.. but yeah no venues booked, 3 weeks or so away, need a miracle to happen.. maybe they push the dates to December.

as much as I want this to happen (I'd be up for paying a couple of hundred for courtsides), a few other things that stand out as seeming a bit unrealistic:
* What about the NBA, if the NBA had cancelled up till Christmas then I'd think maybe more of a lock but currently only games up till NOv 14 are cancelled. I do think they will cancel more but that hasn't happened yet.
* We all saw Bogut's trouble getting insurance, surely trying to get insurance for 10-15 of the leagues top paid players will be super hard.
* Surely it would have leaked if somewhere had been booked (Rod Laver, The Cage etc.)
* Whilst i'm sure it would sell out, surely they would want some sort of advertising period, to get local sponsors and TV coverage
