I didn't like Johns' seclection because I personally thought there were three better contenders.
As for the Broncos, they still think they're the eighth wonder of the universe.

I was not picking you out Chris , its just most of you guys on this forum dribble on with so much shit .... Johns played for the Knights , NSW and Austraila and i think you will not see another player like him again in a very long time.... He was one step ahead and made most sides look stupid.... As for the Broncos , for me they are the best side in the world and i would never ever follow anyone else.... Manly , Dogs , and Cronulla make me sick....
Rugby League began well before Johns arrived and the input of many players and coaches far exceeds what he did, but that is my opinion!
Does anyone remember such guys as Ken Kearney, Ken Irvine, Peter Sterling,Brett Kenny, Terry Randall, Max Krillich, Ray Branighan, Les Johns, Ron Coote,Brian Clay,Graham Eadie, Mal Meninga,Alan Langer, the list does go on for those that achieved many successful years in top company and set a high standard!

I was just stirring about the Broncos mate.
But dead straight about Johns.
I don't even like this Immortal thing anyway. RL is a rich tapestry. Why do we fight over it when we should just celebrate it. Johns isn't even the highest point scorer anymore, but I don't see a rush of petitions to get El Masri inducted - and he was an honest, true man with dignity, integrity, grace, humility and tact. But it will NEVER happen. And I ain't a dogs fan.

Langer and Lockyer and my favourite 2 players of all time.... And lucky for me they both played for my team.... I had the chance to meet up with Aflie only 4 weeks ago and i think he could still play at the highest level.... He was the best number 7 to have ever played the game....
Darren Lockyer kicked his butt 10 fold and i am a blues supporter!

But I'm not that one eyed as a member/supporter that I do not appreciate great players. Don't get me wrong, as I have said all along, I don't hate Johns and I really, really rated him as a player. But I still reckon Coote, Provan and Meninga are above him at this stage (and Johns is still only - what 5 years out of the game?). I'd even rate Lockyer higher.
And for mine, what happens off the field should count, and Coote, Provan and Meninga stand high in that regards with what they have achieved ON and OFF the field. But since that isn't the criteria, the mark of a man in the modern world means stuff all. However, to someone like me, it does.
