Official 2012-13 Offseason thread - trades, rumours, etc

from hoopshype.com

Per the NBA rumor mill, the Chicago Bulls are entertaining giving up Luol Deng to get into the NBA draft lottery. According to sources, Golden State hasn’t talked with Chicago about Deng yet. But Deng is on the Warriors’ short list of veteran small forwards they’d be interested in. Chicago would have to take some of the Warriors’ baggage in return, such as Richard Jefferson or Andris Biedrins, along with the No. 7 pick. The Bulls may get better offers. Trade talks, from the Warriors end, have been fairly slow. But things won’t pick up in earnest anyway until next week, as the June 28 draft nears. Contra Costa Times

LOL had heard a rumor about this but never anything confirmed!

As for the Deng trade talks...... hmmmmm really, really not sure I like it..... Surely we can pick up a SG vet or a vet PG without giving up Deng...

Keith Bogans played for the bulls early in the season didn't he? He did alright, bring him back!

Maybe Felton could be the band-aid needed by the bulls?

Felton said the ideal system for him would be similar to the fast-paced style the New York Knicks used when he was with the team two years ago. New York is among the places he says he could end up next season. He says Portland also is still in the mix along with Phoenix and New Jersey. “You’ve got a lot of teams, you know, different things that can happen,” Felton said. “So we’ll see what happens. You’ve got the draft coming up, and a lot of crazy things can happen during free agency – that’s just the way of the business.” SCNOW

After Brandon Roy was amnestied last season, Warriors GM Bob Myers told him "You should try to come back." Almost a year later, Roy said he wants to make a return to the NBA, and Myers said the Warriors could be an option. "We’d look at him as a possibility," said Myers, who used to rep Roy. "He’s an easy phone call. He has said he wants to come back, and I’ll certainly talk to him. It depends what his expectations are and all of that, but I’ll absolutely talk to him."

Thoughts?

Alright so now my computer is shitting me. Had a big one typed up!

Ok might seem a bit silly but what about a 3 way with chi, orl, sac.

orl get
Joakim Noah
#5 Pick

chi get
Tyreke Evans
Dwght Howard

sac get
Luol Deng
JJ Reddick
#19(orl) & 27(chi) picks

Leaving starters like this

Chi
Dwight
Boozer
Korver
Rip/Evans
Evans/Rose

Orl
Noah
Anderson/Davis
Harrison Barnes or Kidd Gilchrist/ Hedo
J-Rich
Jameer

Sac
Cousins
Thompson
Deng
Reddick/Thornton
Thomas

I know it's a pretty random sort of concotion, really looked at from a bias Bulls point of view, but factor in evans out favour, being played at SF or behind thornton and thomas this season. Dwight slightly out of favour with threats of going to free agency etc etc.
Actualy i think if anyone loses out it's sacramento. Maybe the Bulls throw in Asik or Orlando throw in Anderson/Davis to give them an inside presence and move cousins to PF.

I also think for Sacramento having the #5 pick, is not necessarily a good thing. Both Barnes and Kidd-Gilchrist are great talents, but I think they'd be better getting some experience in. Using ESPN depth chart experience going in to next season PG -1 season, SG - 3,SF -3 (which is evans who ESPN themselves list as a PG), PF - 4, C - 2

like the looks of that line up a lot! I still don't rate Boozer very highly though, would like to see him moved!
