Hockey’s home of the autographed Rookie Card has undergone an expansion; a staggering, way-better-than-expected upgrade that should make Panini America’s 2013-14 Contenders Hockey — quite possibly the last Contenders Hockey we’ll see in quite some time — a bona fide phenomenon. When the product releases to the hobby one week from today, collectors will notice boxes that promise at least three autographs per box. In reality, most boxes will deliver four — and two boxes in every 14-box case will deliver eight.

Amid the product’s landmark Rookie Ticket Autographs, abundant parallel roster, sublime booklet autographs and multi-autograph marvels, 2013-14 Contenders Hockey also delivers bonus autographs from past products such as Playbook Hockey and Classics Signatures Hockey.
