Earlier this year I sent something to Luxembourg just before covid really kicked off.
The package was tracked for a few weeks until it paused in Customs in Brussels for some reason, which is a different country of course.
It sat there for almost two months - nothing. By this time the buyer opened item not received case with eBay, and we know how good that is for sellers. Buyer eventually got a refund a few months after purchase.
I was now out the cash and the items, and since Aus Post were taking well over a month to answer any claims at that point, I decided to contact Luxembourg customs to see if they'd seen it after all. They hadn't.
So I had to basically manually track this parcel (starting from buyer's local post office and working backwards) around Europe for another month or so, eventually getting an automated response from Brussels customs.
Even Aus Post gave up and literally said once it's overseas it's not their problem and closed the case, even though I obviously paid them to ensure it gets delivered to the buyer. DO NOT RELY ON AUS POST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Lo and behold, within 24 hours of contacting Brussels the item's tracking updated and it took a few more days until the buyer got it. When it was delivered to the buyer, he eventually repaid for the item, which was a nice surprise. This was almost 5 months after I first sent the package.
Global shipping has definitely levelled out in the past few months, but I have absolutely no doubt that mail systems everywhere are absolutely swamped.
Hope it turns up for you mate.
