ESP Elite 2015 Official Thread (Sell Sheet Page 44)

I wonder why the jersey cards had to be finals jersey cards, all i am hearing is its tough to get player to part with their finals jerseys, while finals is nice, wouldn't it be better to get a better player for such a rare card even if the match is less significant like selects?
I know in 2003 jersey cards were Lockyer, Price and Ricketson all good high quality players. Would much rather a significant player rather than a jersey from a significant (finals) game.

And Walker & Klemmer YG in 2014.

Also the quads are looking more uninspiring. Hunt/Milford backs over Copely/Reed. These cards are numbered to 65 so why wouldn't you be placing your premier players on them.
I had the theory it was because they usually don't do multiple inserts of the same player in Elite and they're saving the better players for the higher end stuff.

If ESP can't secure new players each year then the Young Gun subset should really be done away with.

It should be a one time rookie card so that you have the anticipation of following the career of that player to see whether your short print signature becomes a big name etc. The problem with repeating is that it devalues a past product. Those excited to secure say a Cartwright Future Star to #105 (a very nice card) now have it devalued in more ways than just financially by the release of his Young Gun.

ESP really need to rethink how they approach their signature cards for next year; to me this year is a complete shambles. I cannot believe they have increased the pack price by so much considering that. And for the record I am totally in support of a price rise if the product matches. I'd happily pay $100 for a pack if it was loaded with hits. In fact, given my basement is stacked to the roof with commons, I'd prefer it.

Can someone tell me why Select future force cards had a different player each year yet ESP keep doubling up ?

If the NRL are the ones that are controlling the choice then why didn't we see double ups in the past ?

The biggest disappointment to me is the removal of the league sensations as I thought that lived up to "elite" name but don't get me wrong I am happy with Val Holmes getting a card and will be trying my hardest to get one but the draw to the product was always the big names..

It is interesting. Tim Sheens mentioned this last year when I chatted with him how many of the younger players, even in 1st Grade, find signing cards a daunting experience. I can understand how 17-20 years olds would too. Pressure is on, especially for many players who could become the 'bread winner' of the family.
