    Circumvention of eBay

I've received an offer on a recently-listed set of cards. Since it's quite a high value item, I don't want to go through eBay and be slugged a few hundred in fees. The seller is happy to be invoiced via PayPal and has several hundred positive records @ 100% feedback. Is there any way I can get...

Finally listed my UD Ultimate set to see if it would attract any bites

Here is the auction - a complete set of 2006/07 UD Ultimate auto/jersey cards What is your experience when it comes to selling via best offer? I'm certainly in no hurry to sell this set, but I understand $10k is an unlikely target. Nevertheless, I thought I'd see whether there was any interest.

"Game Used" when it comes to rookies

Does anyone else fail to see the appeal of memorabilia cards when it comes to rookie players? Sure, the colourful Andrew Luck and RGIII patches look amazing, but why are people paying such a premium for jersey cards that haven't been worn by rookie players in actual games? I'm sceptical at...

1 box of Panini Prime Signatures

Hi guys, long time no see! Tonight I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to break my first football box in a long time. Here's the checklist if you're not familiar with the range. Man. This is a high quality product. Even the base cards are printed on thick and glossy stock. I might...

    Baseball Triple auto/relic card

This gem arrived today. Two of my favourite Dodgers and a former champion and very colourful character!

    Baseball Four boxes of Panini

These arrived at work today and there was no way I could possibly wait until I got home. I busted the boxes at my desk but didn't take photos until this evening. So stand by... a "delayed" four box Panini break is coming up! Took the photos with my DLSR. It was a little more effort, but what's...

Hockey A couple of nice pickups

Got a couple of nice Stars pieces in the mail today. I've always been a huge fan of Mike Modano and after collecting so many of his autographs and memorabilia cards, this is actually the first one I have with him in a North Stars uniform. Also received a beautiful triple jersey featuring...

Considering selling this UD Ultimate Set

I'm grappling with the difficult decision to sell this set of UD Ultimates. It took me a long time to complete the set and it was an immensely satisfying chase, however they have been tucked away safely in a box and will remain there until such time as I have a larger house and wall space to...

    Latest incoming NFL beauties

I'm a Jets fan and this top card is undoubtedly one of my new favourites. Autographs from the winning QBs of the first three Superbowls (plus, Namath is one of my all-time favourite Simpsons cameos, haha). The Santonio Pittsburgh patch is sweet and it's a neat idea for a card.

Hockey Epic mojo in a box break

The very few of you who know me will know that I prefer to buy singles than bust boxes. It's cheaper and the casual collector is guaranteed to get what he or she wants. However recently I decided to treat myself to a few boxes and I spent some time tonight opening packs. It was a great deal of...

    Soccer/NFL sections

Hey guys. Why are the NFL/soccer sections of the forum condensed? Surely it's not all that hard to scroll a little further? It would certainly make life easier for those of us who venture into those regions.

Who displays details ON the package?

I haven't bought or sold for a while so forgive me if this is common practice, but does it strike anyone else as strangely insecure that a seller would package an item with the precise card type and value stuck to the front? What if it was a really expensive card? What if my postman happened to...

    Baseball Matt Kemp auto/patch

My collecting habits have changed quite dramatically over the past 12-18 months and I find myself only buying cards that I really like. They're usually more expensive, but I appreciate them a whole lot more. This piece arrived this afternoon. As a huge Dodgers fan, Matt Kemp is among my...

    Starting an older set chase

Hi guys. I'm spontaneously entertaining the idea of starting a set chase, however the set is from 2006/07. There are 57 cards in total (#'d to 50 each) and there are eight currently available on eBay. That sounds like a lot (14%) however if I bought them all tomorrow, how quickly would...

    Long time no see!

Hi friends. I honestly don't recall the last time I was on this forum. It probably coincided with the completion of a long & expensive set chase! I believe I could count my card purchases in the last year on one hand. I've been very selective, only buying what I REALLY want, rather than my...

    VERY high end NFL acquisition...

I've been looking at buying this card for over a year now. Initially, I couldn't justify the money. However the upward trend of the Australian dollar and my current financial position meant that I decided to lash out and make sure it was in my collection. I negotiated with the seller and...

    Baseball Murderous Mailday

Was reading some news a few weeks ago and saw that relief pitcher, Alfredo Simon was the prime suspect in a shooting. I checked out eBay and picked up one of his auto cards for a couple of bucks. I think since then, the police have changed their charge from murder to involuntary manslaughter...

    Sony Memory Sticks

Found two 1GB Sony Memory Sticks while cleaning out my office (both brand new in packet). Since I no longer have a PSP or Sony camera, they are of no use to me. Anyone want them for a few bucks or exchange of cards??

    Cards for kids?

Hey all, If memory serves me correctly, a member on here once put out a call for cards that he gave to underprivileged children, or bundled up soe some sort of treasure hunt?? The reason I ask is that I've just cleaned out my office and found a stack of basketball cards that I do not want...

    Man Utd auto for sale/trade

Going through my collection and purging any multiples I currently have. This guy admittedly didn't set the world on fire, but would be a nice little add for any Man Utd fans out there. Let me know if interested in sale/trade.

Tennis Autos (Nalbandian, Kournikova & more)

I have the following tennis cards for sale (or trade if you have anything I like). Haven't included prices as I've been out of touch for a while and am not sure about BV etc. so if you're keen, hit me up and we can work something out.

    Drop-down menu in "Other Sports"

Hey guys. Just posted an Alex Ovechkin mailday in the "Other Sports" forum and was surprised not to see a drop-down menu item for "Hockey". Is there any chance this can be added? I would have thought hockey cards would be popular with a few of our members. Cheers. Al

    LIMITED LOGO: Alex Ovechkin

I've been wanting an Ovechkin auto for quite some time. Rather than get anything from eBay, I bided my time until I saw a really nice one that I liked. Great patch (presumably from the corner of the #8 on his sleeve), sharp on-card auto and numbered to 50.

    Couple of patch autos

A couple of cheapies I picked up off the same person that sold me a few nice MLB cards (pics of those already posted) The patch on the Gilyard looks crazy good up close. I think it's the edge of one of his jersey numbers.
