Jonah Lomu to the NRL?

Gold Coast Titans have offered Jonah Lomu a one yr deal.

What The?

has anybody got any ideas on why now he is going to join Rugby League, at the tail end of his career?

any thoughts?

He hasn't been offered a super 14 contract and I guess he's considering anything....

He has been out of rugby for a few years.. personally I thought that NZ wrote him off too quickly. You can't expect an athlete to start performing after a few years out of the game! What he had was worse than any footballer after a knee construction.. they start in the reserves and build their way back up. I am not saying that Jonah would rediscover his menacing best but at least he is worth a gamble... dunno if a League side should have taken the gamble though

Well the article I read said Lomu played rugby league until the age of 14, before switching to union. So it's not as if the game's COMPLETELY new to him. Add in the facts he's 125 kilos and can run the hundred in less than 12 secs, takes out a fair bit of the gamble out of it for me, at least... He was always a favourite of mine for the All Blacks, so can't wait to see him on the feild if it goes through!
