int'l money orders, I got a question here..

Has anyone from here ever received an international money order before?
I currently have a prospective buyer from USA that doesn't have access to paypal, and was wondering if any of u know about whats involved with international money orders?
eg. where can they be cashed (does austpost or banks do them?)
is there any fee that I have to pay to cash it in because it's in a different currency?
any help would be appreciated

I did years ago and got charged a fee to cash it. Don't know how much has changed now though.

What about a western union money order? Wouldn't Aust post cash that and its easy for him to get.

the fee charge within in aus is like $2.50...
but hes sending it too you, i recon like $5 on top of his winning bid.

I recently got a Western Union Money Order from USA and AUst Post cant cash them either some banks. SO I rang up the Western Union and they said I can cash in the money order through this agent: Cash Stop.
It is quite difficult to find an agent which able to cash in the Money order and the fee is about $5.

Good luck dudee or you better accept cash rather money order.

i receiveed one when i sold my finest cards.

i was able to bank it into my bank

there was a fee though i cant remember exactly how much it was

i use heritage building society and credit union australia. both do international money orders. they consider them the same as cheques

im lucky my dad works for a bank...so he just gets me a USA bank draft (essentially a cheque I believe) and off we go, they cost like 25 bucks or something stupid but I get em for free hehe
