I'll be there........been collecting for many many years and now indeed to make it a full time hobby......mostly baseball cards, PSA 10 Rookies and BGS 9.5 and a few 10's, HOF signed rookie cards and finally picked up a Babe Ruth PSA 9 certified auto!!!

I also would like to introduce my business in Australia. Sports Card Authority. I'm in the process of establishing the only grading card company in Australia. We have a scheduled opening date of 1st of feb 2012. Everything is just about in place to launch " Sports Card Authority" on the Australian market. You will be able to check us out on the web in January 2012 and see our grading process, review our grading criteria and print off a submission form. We are truely excited about this as we believe that Australian sports card collectors and traders (especially specific Australian sports;NRL, AFL, Cricket) are missing out on protecting there cards and securing there investments.

The wait is over!

Great idea,:woot: but as the guy above has mentioned - All comes down to credentials as there are really only 2 credible graders to use ....realistically 1 BGS/Beckett (PSA is not that fantastic!).So to break into this market is very tough let alone the mindset of the risk factor in sending our prized cards to the great unknown (No offence)
Overall, it is interesting to say the least, and I hope it's the next big thing for our hobby in Oz. All the best :D

More than happy to respond. I have been a collector myself for over 30 years. In that time I have sent numerous cards to PSA and Beckett for grading either personally or though agents/dealers. I have amassed a cosiderablely collection in that tme. I have a pretty astute eye for cards that are grade worhworthy. All we be revealed in time in regards to the grading process. I can assure you this will not be a half baked job. Beckett and PSA do a fine job and are industry leaders, however I want to be able to deliver a better if not at least a comparable service for Australian collectors. I know the process and costs for sending your prized cards ovrseas! As for my business background......I'm fortunate now that I can purse the grading side of the this hobby industry in Australia, as I have had success in my other businesses I can now afford to step back and let others take over the reins. As I said this will not be a half baked business venture....I don't do half baked!. What I can tell you is that the grading process will be benchmarked against the industry leaders.....Beckett mostly, in that initially to establish some credibility, Sports Card Authority will grade cards and slab them and then sent to Beckett for comparison grading.

There is much much more to tell....but you will have to wait!!

Hey mate,
great idea. Hope you are keen on doing AFL cards also!

My biggest thing with grading companies is the slabbing MUST look good. Ie Becketts are far and away the best looking slabbing ive seen.
I dont care how good PSA is, i dislike there slab and wouldnt send it.
For me it isnt really about the card grad as it is having a beautiful way to keep my card safe and display it.
So will be keen to see what yours looks like.

Hi,

Just wondering if you'll be doing most trading cards or maily sport and if you'll be open to the public or only through the net as it says your in Port and as i'm in Grafton a little trip might be nice, LOL.

Thank you

I'm also looking for a better way to display them, slab will be important.
