Yeh i would have to agree! although my favorite is the original futera, great photos and only a little of the bordering and the shading. The Ashes Heroes 94/95 box set is fantastic quality and hasn't been seen since (other than the furtera heritage sets) The best sets for signatures are select 97/98 and 98/99 i can't believe the cards limited to 150 like Neil Harvey and Norm O'Neil don't command prices over $250. Topps seemed to fill the hole for a couple of years but wasn't anything special!

i think the base sets on these cricket series' are nearly worthless. some nice inserts but on a whole i thought the two series' were very poor. combine the two and it would have been great, the redemptions from 07/08 mixed with the state sigs from 08/09.
but back to base sets, this last series of cricket has the poorest base set ive ever seen. lets hope if select have another go at cricket later this year its a better attempt than the last 2.

i dont know why select thinks that their cricket cards must have a background that looks crappy. i mean all AFL/NRL releases just have the normal photo and the players name and maybe a logo. 2007-08 they were to dull 2008-09 too bright.

just use no background select!

The 2008/9 cricket series was basically a complete joke. You pay $3.95 to get base cards that are rubbish and boring, and if you are lucky enough you might get an insert in every 12 packs. I bought 20 packs or so and never got an insert, i just gave up in the end and bought some foil signatures and a Martyn Past Hero of eBay. I think they should copy the afl series because it would be alot more exciting. I sounds like a stupid idea but a Diue Cut of each Australian player would be good, and then you could have 5-10 players from each state team on there state teams shirt. The Foil signatures are a good idea as well as the Sketch cards and the State Signatures. i'm going to chuck in the crazy idea of a double trouble set in the cricket series as well. They should make a card of each state teams 2 popular players and put them together on 1 card. I think this would make them more exciting, and also fit into their current price of 4 bucks.
