Card Show Dates

Did anyone manage to get out to this show today? if so was there any NBA Cards/Boxes for sale?

I enjoyed myself Matt! I had alot of NFL guys turn up and did alot of trades/sales with them :D

I only got to meet funkadelic from these forums which was great.

Unfortunately, after 17 years that show may come to an end, simply because the dynamite lady who promotes it has been in poor health for 2 years. As a consequence no advertising, just word of mouth which works well in the closed circles of collectors, but adds no new blood to the shows.

However, it has forced the trading card dealers to look at other arrangements. So we will look at doing a show based strictly around trading cards ONLY for the Sydney region in the near future.

Also, stay tuned for Victoria. I will post dates for the rest of 2006 as soon as they come to hand.

Bugger, I remember her being a really nice lady! Shame to hear she has been in poor health.

If there is a show strictly for trading cards Ill definately be in for that, as would quite a lot of other people here on the board.

Make sure you do, I will make sure the dates get added to the Handle mag article. I only have dates for Brissy at the moment so its pointless only printing those dates.

So for the show this sunday at sandown, what time does it open and close?

is there a good chance that there will be common cards to pick through for the early 90s to complete some of my sets?
 
am sure sonny may have some common to help ur set. i will be going as well to see fellow members (if any1 will show up) and to burn some common cards and low -end stuff as well.

Yes Clipper I will have about 10,000 common NBA cards from 93-99.

Most will be 5c too ;)

If I don't have them there are 3 other guys I know that should be able to help out too. 2 deal in everything, and other in NBA/AFL. There's also a dealer who specialises with AFL and another who deals with just NBA singles.

Also Gemz, there are 8 confirmed members from this site including ourselves, and about 10 others from other shows and fellow eBayers.

I'm looking forward to it, hope I can pick up some quality singles for myself :cool:

Anybody know of ANY dates for a Sydney / NSW card show ???

Richo, there are really no more true card shows in Australia anymore, just ones shared with other hobbies/collectables.

However, there is news of trying to organise just a trading card show (yes only cards and a little bit of memorabilia) on the 4th June in Sydney.

In the meantime, there is a collectables fair at Parramatta Town Hall on the 21st May, where there are about 4 tables that deal in trading cards.

Will report here when I have news on the 4th June cause that would be excellent! Much like the mid 90s.
