Buying card via PayPal gift

Hey guys,

The title says it all really... I've got a chance to get an epic card for $1200 AUD via PayPal gift.

What I want to know is what recourse I have if it goes south - ie the seller pockets the cash and keeps the card.

Any help greatly appreciated

You have no protection with Paypal gift, definitely worth paying the fees for such an expensive card (shouldnt be more than $50)

I think for lower end stuff and deals with actual friends then paypal gift is cool. but I don't think I'd be keen going gift on anything over $100........def not $1200!

Will they accept the equivalent of goods $$? Why do they want gift? Could figure out what the fees would be and add it to goods? $4 per 100 or whatever it is and make it $1250 goods?
