Enough is enough

First: he was a very good Collector friends of me and a very good member of many Communities and I had some nice deals with him before so I trusted him soooo much (I never trusted a person that I never see before so much!). Now I know it was a mistake and I´m the idiot :roll:

Since 04/17/2011 I talked with good_old_bball (Steven Stabilo from Australia) about a very big deal. After some weeks we were agree for this deal...

I should get: 98/99 UD Game Jersey autograph 21/23 of Michael Jordan BGS 9.5/AU 10 !

He GOT: 07/08 Chronology timeless memories GOLD autograph #/10 of Michael Jordan + $2450 CASH! I gave him $25 cash + Michael Jordan Total O (BV $50) extra because he always talked about the high Paypal fees!

Since the 8 Juny I´m waiting for the card that he wanted to ship with Express Service. Every week he had a new excuse why he didn´t ship the card.

Normally I had to become distrustful when he told me that he wants at first the card + all the cash before he will ship the card. Normally a Irreverence because we had some deals and I´m a very trustful person in deals and specially I thought we are friends. He told me that buisness and friendship are 2 differnet things. OK, I did what he want. I got this mail from him (I still have all his messages!)...

"Ok this deal. I dont really want to make it too public and post as a transaction. i dont want people looking at our deal thread and give us an evil eye or something lol lol. Some people can be nosey and I like to keep my business about money I make private when its a high deal like this. we can make one after though and feedback each other, and will just write "MJ Auto for Paypal". but anyway. Ok yes all good with the payment plan like we already spoke. with your first payment mohammed, can you send it in 2 payments?? So dont send one full payment (if your sending this amount like you said) of $1,225 now. So send it as $612.50 and then another of $612.50 please. I will let you know how much the fees are, you will be surprised lol lol."

After I payed the full amount on 8th Juny I´m still waiting for my card. Many times I contacted him and I was soooooooooooo patient and politely. Then I started a claim for the secound payment on Paypal (it was the last day I could). I got following mail...

"Bro, please do not get upset or angry. U have my SINCERE apologies. The only reason I said give me 2 weeks is because I will take 1 day off work. I just got this promotion in my job Mohammed and I honestly don't want to start taking days off work cos I want to show my boss that he made a correct decision in appointing me managing duties. That is why I said give me 2 weeks.

This has blown up into something that should not be. I am NOT angry at you. I am only upset why you opened a dispute now. You trusted me all the way and this whole time. And I do not want to make you upset Mohammed. Right now my paypal account is barred and in debit $1200 because of the dispute. I can't sell anything on forums, I can't use eBay, I can't do anything. I DO trust you will close the dispute after you receive the card. I know you will.

I need you to close the dispute bro. Give me your phone number and I will call you from work tomorrow and I will assure you that you are in SAFE hands.

And yes I will continue to send your card using express courier international like we initially agreed.

I just don't want to see you angry brother. That is he LAST thing that I want. And I want our friendship to last forever and hopefully wish to meet you in person one day too.

Bro I've had many many things happen to me the last 2-3 months (good and bad things). And I will NEVER EVER rip you (or anyone else) off. I am against this kind of people. You are honestly on top of my priority list Mohammed, and I never ever want to see you upset or angry. My head and my heart is bleeding now that I see you are angry with me. But brother, you are looking into it too much.

I even saw the MJ chrono gold sell on ebay for $600 and I was worried maybe it is not worth $2000 like u told me, but after u confirmed that it IS worn $2000 I believed you because I trust you, and know you would not lie to get a better deal.

I HATE making anyone upset (in the hobby and in my personal life). I try do whatever I can to make people happy. And that is what I want to see you, be happy.

Just be confident that you will get your MJ auto jersey, I promise you on my kids lives you will receive it. Maybe it will be nearly 3 weeks until it is in your hands, but either way you will receive it. Sometimes when you think about something tooooo much, your mind can play tricks. I understand that me not replying quickly maybe made you worried, and that's fair enough. I still love and trust you like I did from day 1. So plz Mohammed, no hard feelings bro, and please forgive me if I have upset you. Our deal is a very highend deal and I understand. But bro if I take a day off work now then my boss will definitely get pissed off because he left me in charge since he went overseas. As soon as he comes back, heck I can even fly to Germany to give you the card in person lol. but until then, I only can send regular mail because I already have stamps and envelopes on-hand and I don't need to go inside the post office.

What did I idiot => I cancel the claim and hoped the best (my problem was too that he already had my Jordan Chronology gold auto card and the first payment!)! On 13th July he told me ONCE AGAIN that he will ship the card in 2 weeks. Now 4 weeks gone and I´m really angry.

I never thought that I´ll have this problem with Steve (and I´m sure that many other people can´t believe that, too) but it will be a lesson for me!

It's unlike Steve not to follow up on a deal. I know he has been extremely busy with his new job, to the extent that he hasn't even had time to come on here. I've never ever had an issue with him, he has always come through with a deal to make me happy.

@ozballer23: you know what the worst think is? I had the same good experience with Steve. I love it to email with him. Our deals were always great. I know that he has many work at the moment and some personal problems. Everything fine for me! Because of my trust & patient I didn´t start a claim on the first payment and I shipped at first the card. He got $2475 + Jordan Chrono gold AU + Jordan Total O. 3 month later I still haven´t my card because he says that he hasn´t the time to go to the post office and now I didn´t hear from him for 23 days. 31 days ago he told me that he will ship the card in 2 weeks.

What can/should I do. Please tell me Embarassed

I don't know nor have a dealt with Steve, but to say you can't go to the Post Office and do the postage/mail on you lunch break is laughable, even if it took up all your lunch break you would do it....
So get off your a$$ Steve and do the deal mate, seems we have a lot of "scammers" in OZ know wonder sellers in the States don't want to do deals here....
He told you that business and friendship are two different things, yet he goes on about friendship etc.

Sounds like a real mess.. Hope it gets sorted.

Not sure exactly of the legalities, but I'd think that the card would actually now be considered stolen goods if it was witheld after being paid for and therefore couldn't be used as collateral and would need to be returned to whoever the authorities deems it belongs to (in this case I'd think Bolli, if his purchase can be proved)

Sorry if that doesn't really help, just don't want anyone else to get into more trouble....I'd suggest all involved talk to the authorities or get legal advice.

Sounds lIke this could get very messy. Only way I can see it getting resolved without authorities getting involved is if steve pays what's owed to G, he releases the card back to Steve, the card is then sent to Bolli.

Furthermore, as I understand it, "Retention of Title", that is cover for goods that a supplier hasn't been paid for, only applies to specific goods that were bought from that supplier and then not paid for. IE if the card was bought from Cherry, then he also has a claim on it...if it wasn't I doubt he has a claim, even as value against moneys owed. Again, I urge all to consult the authorities or get legal advice..

This could get messy, ive never traded with good_old_bball on here (as i collect only NRL), ive always seen him as a active, trusted member on the forums. Perhaps that isnt true. If he has stuffed you out of this much money and goods, i would be contacting the police personally. He should have sent it now if he was legit..

Guys, I´m really speechless. I have his name and his adress. It´s possible to get his number from his work? Or somebody knows him personally (Steven Stabilo)?

It´s not so easy for me to fly to Australia but I want to be honest that I´m so angry that I think about it to cancel my US-trip and change it to a Australian fly.

I had some positive dealings with Steve in the past, and always upheld his side of the bargain. The only thing I can say to Steve is give Mohammad a status of the transaction rather to leave him hanging with little or no response. Hope this confusion can be cleared up.

This is really a sad state of affairs! This is my I can never bring myself to get into trading in high end stuff or breaking a sh!tload of boxes on credit..... There is so many more important things in life then cards and if you commit yourself and so much money into something then it gets extremely hard to get yourself out of it if anything goes wrong!! so many variables! Steve was a great active member on here who went above and beyond all the time... He would be one of the last ones you'd think would EVER do something like this but I guess when things get hard it backs people into corners that they sometimes can not get out of! It's a real shame that this has happened to anyone and it seems he has got himself into a bit of money trouble in the hobby!!

I hope it all works out for the people involved and like has been suggested the people that are owed money or goods on that sort of scale money wise should really seek some sort of info/assistance from the right people!

Also hope this thread doesn't turn into a **** fight with people that don't know Steve or just want to act the hero adding in insults or their 2 cents about people they know nothing about!

Yeah this is a bit sad, I have had a few low end deals with Steve (good_old_bball) and he was an absolutely lovely guy to deal with.
In fact, I still have the decoy card that has a note on it he sent out with my cards attached to my desk, to remind that there are good people in this hobby.

Unfortunately as Ian says, sometimes people find themselves in really difficult life circumstances, which seems to be what may have happened to Steve.

I wish both of you the best of luck resolving this issue.

Bolli needs to either get a refund or the card he has paid for. This is pretty low for the seller to take the guy's money and run. That's why i will never do high end deals with people i do not know personally as the temptation for the other party to rip me off is too great for some.
