It's not entirely about trading cards mate, it is a several thousand dollar transaction that looks to have gone pear shaped!!

And there is NOT ONE good reason as to why someone cant find 20 minutes, or get someone else to go to the post office. NOT ONE.

I'm not sure there are that many assumptions mate...one bloke has lost out bigtime at the moment, that is clear.

Not many assumptions?
Did he lose out big time did he? Did he let you look at his inbox and paypal transactions? As quick as people are to ASSUME Steve has screwed someone for thousands of dollars is as quick as I will come to his defence until some 'splainin' is done.
There is no deal thread correct?, there are accusations and pasted messages which may or may not be real, Grayson replied but I'm not entirely clear on what it meant, you've got people saying unless someone is dead there is no excuse to complete a deal when there is yet no proof of a transaction. No assumptions would have to be the understatement of the year. It has blown up and needs to be sorted yes but jesus I dunno

Wow this is all pretty messy :S. Unfortunantly things like this can happen all the time and not just in the collecting community. Something akin to this happened in the Pc Gaming. Sad turn of events and I hope all can be worked out.

There seem to be alot assumptions flying around here and this seems like it could get very messy.

I have dealt with Steve a few times and everytime has gone off without a hitch. I had to re-read some of these posts... I can't imagine him doing this sort of thing without a fair explanation. I hope comes on here to clear his name, until then I will jump to his defense until there has been some explaining.

At the end of the day. Its about cards! And saying that being dead is the only excuse is excessive!

If it is as simple as that. Then you are right, there is no excuse. But just relax a bit and think that there could be more to it than anyone here knows. That's all I'm saying!

Like I see here are many guys who can't believe what happen. You can believe me that I tried everything to clear this problem without making it puplic because I had a very good realationship to Steve (I proofed my trust to wait a so long time and specially to do not open/let open a Paypal-claim). I can proof that I have send him $2475(you really want the transaction number
and his Paypal adress to believe me?)! I have many mails from him (here in this Community & in my Arcor-Email-Box). If one of the Mods of this Community wants then I can give him my password and he can see in my pm-box what Steve wrote me and that we had a deal.

Just want to let the guys know who say "it's just about trading cards" that there are many many families on this earth who would live under a bridge when they lost $4000! I'm very disappointed about Steve because he wanted to ship the card 2 month ago. He was alive and healthy. What happened?

I didn't mean "it's just a card and you should get over it"!
I mean that it should turn into an all in attack without knowing what is happening with Steve!

I feel very sorry for you and I so believe you, I can't see you being this forthcoming if you weren't being honest. I really hope you get your card, or money back. I also hope Steve is ok and comes back to resolve this for you.

Thanks for your wishes. Of course you are right that healthy is most important but I'm sure that Steve is alive and OK. He just has money problems and he tried to clear his problems with my money :(

I still really can't believe what happened and still happen. I never ever thought that.

Somebody knows his town or maybe live there? My Lawyer in Germany told me it's better to take a Lawyer in Australian

3. Covering yourself as much as you can should be a no brainer and doing Deal threads on OCT are there for a reason ! Not putting all information in that section is something I don't understand. If something does go wrong it will be easier for others to help if they really know what the deal but I can also understand keeping it a bit private but surely a deal of this magnitude would warrant all fine print put into the deal ?

In the end, I hope it all gets sorted out and that others learn from it in a positive way.

Spot on Tezz! if someone asked me to NOT post the trade up alarm bells would start ringing straight away.......no matter how much I trust him!

Hope you get a refund Mohammad as this is a LOW ACT IMHO!

Have had a few deals with steve and like everyone else it all went off without a hitch

Bolli- keep bugging the AFP as they are as slow as a wet week, provide them with as much detail as you can.
G- mite pay to get in contact with Bolli, if wat he is saying is true and the AFP deem the card as stolen goods, then your unknowingly in possession of stolen goods. Communicate with Bolli (if you haven't already done so) so that both of you are on the same page.

Steve mate you need to get on here and clear this up ASAP, everyone here is willing to give you the benefit of the doubt but geez mate it's blown up now.

Hope it all works out guys

toally agree since post office is open on saturdays as well
I don't know nor have a dealt with Steve, but to say you can't go to the Post Office and do the postage/mail on you lunch break is laughable, even if it took up all your lunch break you would do it....
So get off your a$$ Steve and do the deal mate, seems we have a lot of "scammers" in OZ know wonder sellers in the States don't want to do deals here....
He told you that business and friendship are two different things, yet he goes on about friendship etc.

By the sounds of it G has had this card as collateral since before the other deal was made so I would assume by rights the card is G's whatever has come after reverts back to Gob.

Wow i wish i had a saturday post office :(

Yeah i am sure Steve has been stand up to all including myself but hey he is human to , Obviously he has been spending way beyond his means !!!

Like a lot of High end collectors do in this hobby !

And it's come back and Bit him square on the you know what !!!!

It's the internet no offense but trust no one.

I have that card - as collateral.

I have had it for months and months. I fear that Steven has fallen on bad times, maybe acted out of character or was trying to settle and couldn't.

Not making excuses but he always kept me informed, despite having a managable outstanding balance.

I've made him aware of these accusations and told him that the 'collateral' will be sold.

Given these circumstances Bolli I would offer you first option on the card. I'd give it to you if I could, only it represents a fair amount of lost money for me too :(

G

So which is it, MANAGEABLE OUTSTANDING BALANCE, or FAIR AMOUNT of LOST MONEY. 2 contradicting statements in the same post.

How is he contradicting? The outstanding balance is an amount that in G's eyes is apparently managable by Steve to repay. G has obviously not been paid so the outstanding balance is now lost money that apparently amounts to a fair amount. Hence why the card held as collateral is being sold...

I just wish Steve would post always had nothing but good deals with him and found him a great guy so hopefully this can be sorted asap.
