Bulls v Heat 2011 Playoffs Eastern Final Thread **SPOILERS INSIDE**

But remember the benches aren't important................ even though the bulls outscored the heat 28-16

Nice sarcasm. But i think that is true for some teams. For the Bulls, their bench seems to come up with their way of penetrating the paint. So effectively I think what makes this team good is the fact they can change up the game if needed. Kind of like the Bulls of old where John Paxonand BJ Armstong would come on a light up the Bulls, when they were down.

Its funny because ever since you denounced the bench and their importance the Bulls bench has played very well and been very important the whole time as it was in the regular season.
Even tonight the bench was half the reason we won. In the 3rd when it was still tight and the benches both came on against each other our bench gave us that breathing space and then continued it on in the 4th.
Bench will ALWAYS be important when you play the bulls because when both sides benches take the court you have to be able to keep up with them. I mean hell we have the confidence to start with our bench in the 4th 90% of the time so they have to be important!

PS WTF is Ba-ram-you!

Yeah fair call.

When I said bench wasn't important I meant for the Heat though. The Heat go as the BIG3 go, so if LeBron and Wade are only going to combine for what, 30 points today? Then yes they are going to lose because they don't have that bench production. Normally they both should play a lot better though as they have throughout the playoffs, and get a lot more production.

So I guess what I meant wasn't that the Bulls bench isn't good, but more-so that when you play the Heat it's never really a match-up of "Bench vs. Bench" because the Heat's BIG3 give so much production they don't tend to rely on their bench often.

So going by that, while the Bulls bench clearly outplayed the Heat's bench today - I wouldn't point out the Heat reserves as the reason for them losing. It all starts AND ends with the BIG3, who unfortunately only 1 of them performed to his ability today.

No replay on OneHD tonight? :yellow:

Solid win by the Bulls today, i was thinking it'd be a belting the other way to be honest but im happy to see the Bulls had a good show in. Could this finally be the first Championship for the Bulls since 98 :kick:

I just thought this needed to be posted:

and this aint too shabby either :D

This guy has been a beast this playoffs series and I can really see him going places.

Jimbo. I love how in the first few posts after the game had finished you basically put it on the Heat for playing badly and the Bulls for hitting shots they normaly don't.... arghhh ermmmm, those shots are the reason the won 62 games, and they were missing them in the Playoffs so far so thats why people were getting stuck into them. Rose has improved his Mid/long range jumper and 3 ball out of sight over last pre season and the regular season, he's just snapped out of his funk thats all... I'd be more worried that he's got his shot back and got 28 with hardly any penetration at all! That would be the biggest worry for the Heat, start closing out on him to hard because he's shooting well again and he'll blow by them! Deng was brilliant today!! Held Lebron really, really well and was on his toes the entire time on offense and made his shots too! Taj is a MASSIVE spark, I love the energy and hussle he brings to the court!

The Heat will come back strong, but the best thing for the Bulls today was not just beating them, but out playing them in every single part of the game!

Go Bulls!!!!

Totally agree 100%. I mean we only shot 44% from the field which is nothing special. It was the shocking rebounding by the heat that lost them this one. Nothing to do with the bulls doing anything over what they do normally.

I'm a Heat fan what did you expect

And if they had made shots like that all season well good on them. I didn't follow them all season so I don't know they normally shoot like that. I personally have never watched a Bulls game and seen Derrick Rose make 3 triple's, or Deng finish with 4 for that matter. I'd expect that 1/10 games but not a regularity.

From everything I've seen of the Bulls recently, and everything I've read and heard as well - I thought they were not a good jump-shooting team (with the exception of Korver altho apparently he's been off as late, and Deng can be streaky).

If I'm mistaken, I apologize.

Actually stuff that, no apologies here - this is WAR!

SEE YOU AT GAME 2 IAN!:wave::mad:

Wow that was amazing. I'm a Lakers fan, but I haven't been so excited for another team since the Bulls back in the 90's. I was yelling and jumping up out of my chair. Rewinding as soon as Taj threwdown (each time). Man I want the Bulls to win it all now. So exciting to watch. The bench guys remind me so much of the old Bulls. I thought I saw Luc Longley & BJ Armstrong play again today, lol. Bulls in 6!

You are completely correct there in my opinion.

Rose shoots at 26%, Deng at 31.

but how many 3 pointers do the heat usually take. only took 8 in game one which i would thought was down from average.

where they gun shy or was the bulls defense stifling their looks

A combination of both. Defense was stifling. But not on the Heat shooters. It was more like once the Bulls defense clamped down, Wade and LeBron both went into hero mode - and apart from Bosh didn't really look for any other teammates.

I'd like to see Mike Miller get some of Bibby's time next game. Bibby has done nothing this entire post-season, so Miller can't offer much worse than that. With Miller on the floor we get another play-maker too, and more importantly a good rebounder with good length (he's 6'8" and grabbed a few boards today in limited time).

James Jones hit a trey and has been shooting well this post-season, he just needs more looks.

Very intrigued to see what personnel changes Spo makes for Game 2, IMO I think Miller needs Bibby's minutes, Haslem needs to get some burn (even if he's rusty offensively, he's still a hustler and has a nose for the ball) and if they are going to play someone for bulk in should be Erick Dampier, not Big Cat Magloire.

that sixth man on the court shoulda been a technical. that was dirty.

 don't think it was dirty mate, just a case of Joel Anthony not having a brain. obviously it wasn't intentional.... that's not to say it didn't deserve a T because that's what the rulebook says - but it wasn't dirty..

I knew I'd get called up on this.

Well they aren't MEANT to be important for the Heat. Heat bench only outscored Boston's once and they beat them 4-1. But I guess it's pretty damn important when both LeBron and Wade fail to score 20 points.

We just got our asses handed to ourselves tonight, plain and simple. Ba-ram-you!

well I agree with you about Miami bench.

that is why I stressed about the Bulls bench, when they played the post season series and Bulls bench did not play more than 5mins, Bulls struggled sometimes when Boozer and Noah were quiet.

I really think the Bulls bench is a unique unit, it changes up the game so makes it harder to defend as effectively you playing two teams that can score.

I am glad the coach is showing faith in them like he did in regular season, 15mins on court each for three of them is all they need to score points
