Ebay Dispute

Hey guys

I sold a lebron james card around 5 weeks ago on ebay($180au), sent via regualr post to canada. The guy has started a dispute to get his money back as he indicated he didnt recieve the card. I sent the card to his address as stated but since it was via regualr not registered i have no proof.

Paypal have now removed the funds from my paypal until the dispute is finalised. It doesnt seem fair when this guy could be full of crap. The same guy brought a cheaper card from me 2 weeks later and recieved the card. Plus hes bidding on one of my current auctions.

Im at a loss as what i can do, i guess im stuffed since it was sent via regualr mail.

Nothing you can do. That's the problem with Paypal.

If you do not trust him, you can always not allow him to bid on your auctions anymore.

Nothing you can do, you shouldnt send cards that expensive regular mail if they use paypal. Bad luck mate.

I'd say he is just playing with you mate, probably has got the card just making out he has not recieved it, trying to get his money back, the fact he has bid on more of your cards makes you wonder why he would bother making a dispute.

ALWAYS send via registered mail, charge extra for it (18.75), if buyers don't wanna pay that much, don't bid!

Yeah your right, from now on any card worth more than 50us will be registered.

From what i can see this has become a major problem a lot of these guys are taking advantage of this feedback system and claim system.
Like Norm stated if this crap is going on with petty thieves trying to obtain cards and coming with a scam oh i have not received it (knowing no one can prove it ).

I say registered all the way even for low as $30 - $10 mate why let someone have the opportunity to try and hustle the card from you , since all this claiming crap is around for no received items, registered solves all the problems.

I was thinking of starting to sell on Ebay but reading up on all the rubbish that goes on scared me away but might just give it a go and charge registered as a rule of thumb if they don't like it don't buy very simple.

Hope you don't lose the cash because he seems not to worry about bidding further very suss would u not think if he did not receive the other card he would not bid on any other of your actions till the item is sorted?????

No matter where you go or what you do money seems to attract s lot garbage people that like to scam to save a few petty $$$$

At least enforce insurance. Luckily we can insure things down here whether they are Regular or Express, but they have to classed as a Parcel. Still can be costly, but at least if some ass-clown decides to hussle you, you can get your money back from Aus Post. Takes a while though...

That happened to me once only I sent with a tracking number, so I ended up getting my money back after the buyer got the card and cancelled the dispute. So just pray that there is a delay at the post office and your buyer is honest enough to cancel the dispute when he does get the card, and next time require buyer to get insured shipping for anything high value.
