Lost/Stolen cards

The following 2 redemption cards are lost/stolen:
2020 Elite J Wighton LSB # 07/40
2020 Elite W Graham LST # 20/20

Purchased both of these off eBay. Received registered tracked bubble mailer. Opened on Friday and found no cards inside at all.
Seller advises they put them in there and it seems the bubble mailer may have been opened during transit.

Either way paid over $600 for these cards which are now lost/stolen.

If anyone sees these pop up at any point, can you please let me know.

That’s a shit go mate . Is the seller legit ?Cause the only person that would remove the cards and still process the bubble mailer would be aus post staff.
A common thief would of taken the lot you would imagine . Hope TLA flag it in the system so if it gets sent in they can notify you ? Good luck

Yeah not sure. I bought of dazs_94 on eBay. Not sure if he’s a collector on these forums or not.
Ive been to 1 Aus Post already been now need to call up and lodge it then attend a corporate branch. The one I went to flagged some concerns that the bubble mailer looks reused and potentially just stuck together with old sticky tape plus said the stamps weeent stamped (even though it made it to me) but who knows.

It may not be the case here, but registering empty envelopes is one of the oldest tricks in the book for international Ebay scammers especially. I lost a very large part of my GoT collection to this a couple of years ago.

Hopefully it is not the case for you, but seems to be a bit more commonplace in small collectibles.

Thanks for the info. All news to me and not something I have ever come across. Hopefully this is just a once-off.

Yeah he is on here apparently. Maybe he can explain himself .As mentioned hopefully TLA can flag it as a good collector has been ripped by a grub and the redemption cards are now basically just that .

Be interesting to know why they were redeemed and sent back after being flagged as stolen ?
It makes you wonder doesn’t it. I’m guessing it’s less hassle for them to just send the cards out regardless, or someone out of the loop didn’t know to flag it when they arrived

Isn’t that the seller that Gold Coast Cards released a statement about warning others?
Yeah mate, that’s the one

Looks like this miraculously appeared, surprisingly still with the original seller!!

Hey everyone.
Ive had a few messages sent through today flagging this has appeared on eBay - I’ll explain what I know;

After putting in the eBay case, the seller was adamant they’d sent the card but eBay decided in my favour and I got a refund on both.

Shortly after the settlement, the seller then messaged me saying somehow he got the card back - mentioned it had been advertised by someone else on Facebook and he somehow got it back (I still don’t know how and couldn’t get a clear explanation). He offered me $50 off if I bought it again but I said no thanks as I’d now moved on.

He then attempted to redeem through tla and I’d messaged back & forth with TLA explaining situation but also that I’d been refunded in full - which is the main thing I personally was worried about.

On that basis (that I had my money back), TLA were then proceeding to redeem the card for him. So now it looks like it is being sold off by him after redeeming.

No idea about the W Graham LST as he said that one is now long gone.

I’m just glad I’m done with dealing with it all - but there’s the explanation for anyone messaging/wondering how the Wighton card has appeared for sale again by same seller.
