Finally, after 13 years of searching, having never ever seen a genuine numbered or redeemed one of these since they were inserted into packs of 1996 Futera Elite cricket cards, I can proudly present to you my fully redeemed Impact Card #20/50!!! :worthy:

This card redeemed ALL inserts found in 1996 Elite - 16 "Specialists" (ratio 1:3 packs), 5 "Freshman" (1:21 packs) and the coveted "caught Marsh bowled Lillee" signature redemption (1:1020 packs). This set was a premium release - 24 packs per box, with packs retailing for $6.95. With 8,500 boxes and only 50 Impact Cards, this card is an almost impossible pull - 1:4080 packs!!!

As most of you would know Futera numbered all of their inserts, and the Impact Card redeemed all inserts with the same number as the Impact Card - in this case all are numbered 0020.

Thanks guys. It actually popped up on Ebay, not under sports cards and with a non-descript heading. There were no bids with 4 days to go, so I thought I may be able to steal it for a song. It had only been viewed 9 times, so I was unsure whether to hold out and try to get a bargain or email the seller and, like the Godfather, making an offer he couldn't refuse! ;)

In the end I figured I didn't want to risk waiting so he got an email and a very good offer! Fortunately he accepted - I have never seen this card redeemed before so I wasn't willing to wait for the next one to come along if I missed out!

Now I just need to find the 1997 Decider Impact Card, which is limited to only 25, so I am not holding my breath!
 
It was a tough one to know what to offer as of course there is no precedent because I have never seen one for sale. It wasn't really about the money in the end because either you get it or you miss out and maybe wait another 5 years for the next one to turn up. I paid $650 in the end, which was somewhat more than the sum of the individual inserts...but what price do you put on getting all cards with the same number? Some people might put no value on that, but for me I thought it worth paying the premium as it was a holy grail card that I needed for my collection.

I may just highjack my own thread here and say that I already have all of the inserts that this Impact Card redeems - therefore by obtaining this card it now means that my inserts are all for sale.

This one you guys might be interested in - asking price is $450 firm. One other board member here has first right of refusal and I am still awaiting a reply, but should he not want it then it's first in first served - #230 of 250:

Please humbly note that Lillee/Marsh card numbered 230 of 250 is officially off the market and will be tucked away in my collection :woot:
