Man, you miss two weeks in the office around Panini America and you miss a lot.
After being on the road for 10 straight days at the 2012 NHL All-Star Game in Ottawa and Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, I returned to HQ this morning to find a waiting treasure trove of jaw-dropping autographs recently returned for upcoming Panini America NBA releases.
Last week we shared the exploits of Panini America NBA acquisitions specialist Ivory Tabb, who’s been bouncing around the country conducting player signings for the juggernaut that will be 2011 Preferred Basketball. Today, I got up close and personal with some of the fruits of her labor.
These gems, as you’ll see below, aren’t so much basketball cards as they are genuine works of collecting art. I could attempt in vain to spit praising prose on what you’re about to see, but these images tend to speak for themselves. Oh, and as a way to properly set the stage for the upcoming 2011-12 Hoops release, I’ve also included the first three signed original 1989-90 Hoops BuyBacks that have been returned.
Enjoy.

Man I hope there are going to be D Rob RC Buybacks!!!!!!

Can't say I'm a fan of the Award Winneres triangle cuts though!! But that K Love is siiiiiiiick!

*^&^$%*&%^&*%)*(*^!!!!! Not 1 Blair to collect!! Oh, well, better in the bank balance!

But they include Toney Douglas, Larry Sanders etc etc etc.... $%#^$#%$@#

Just a thought..... But why are they still focussing on the 10/11 rookies???

No mention of the 11/12 rookies at all

I heard that they will be redemptions, but not in this set, in the Hoops and later sets in the season. I thinkit is lockout induced they didnt have a photoshoot and the rookies hadnt signed until December. So they could print these cards for signing by the players in advance for when the lock out ended, but had to start the whole manufacturing process in December for the rookies.

an example is CP3 still in a Hornets uniform, they printed before they knew of the trade early in December.

Wow, quite possibly the first Panini product I'd be interested in chasing a few of (bar National treasures).
Those prime silhouttes are nice, with some good names.

good to see my favourite David "signs for everything in sight" Robinson :) is in there.

Plus Robert Horry, Chris Mullin, Hornacek, Richmond and Kukoc are excellent additions.

Although there is plenty of names that need to go. But I guess they do need some "common" names.

This is actually the first Panini product i've been excited for. I think I better save some cash some of those booklets are going to start some biding wars. Love the combos they are using for them like the Defence, all-star etc.

there'll be no rookies until redemptions in the finaly product - can't remember the name. Until then it's all veterans. As to their being no blair ... it all depends who panini has under contract for auto's and GU. For example, there's no Patrick Ewing AU's, but there's several GU's coming out. ditto for Garnett.
