Not that big in Australia but if you're a fan you're a big fan - I had a friend after school about 20 years ago who was a massive Steve Yzerman fan, had all the jerseys, played in a local comp in Sydney at the time - wouldn't shut up about it lol

Definitely seems to be the committed fans in Australia, glad for league pass and the like now, it used to be so hard to follow a few years ago.

I wish I had have played when I was younger but not too many rinks around the place! Haha

I wish I had played it too. There was an ice rink right at the back of my school - Centre Rd Oakleigh South. A few of the kids at school had older brothers who played. I'm not sure they even had a junior comp at the time - 1985. I used to love going in there on a filthy hot day. I'm pretty sure the ice rink is still there.
