Have you ever lied about being a member

Hey everyone just wondering if you have ever lied to someone about being a forum member I ask because occasionally I attend swap meets were there are guys selling cards and they seem to be serious collectors but when I ask if there a member of any forums they say no the same at the nexus I went to once as a seller I'd have guys that new their stuff and I asked are you a member of ozcardtrader and you guessed it no, are there collectors out there that seriously don't use the Internet
or are they playing dumb in an effort to get a better deal just curious if anyone else has had this experience
