Stole this from another site but its pretty cool

the rules are pretty simple, each player starts off with 3 points and once a day you can add a point to a player and subtract a point from a player. We are trying to determine who is the best basketball player of all time.

Now, I'll be honest. My knowledge of the older players on the list isn't great. Ive heard of them, know who they played for, but don't know to much about their achievements.
So it's one off Pippen for me. The test for Pippen was what he did when MJ left. What did he do? Refuse to re-enter a playoff game against the Kicks when Phil Jackson designed a play for Kukoc. Great stuff Pip - NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Im sorry did i not read the rule book for this...oh wait, there ARE no rules. If we did it your way chad, we'd have about 500 points for MJ and the whole thing would be a boring pile of shit thats a just a waste of time. im trying to shake it up a bit, make it less predictable. I know wilts going to get heaps of points, so im evening it up a bit.

I like Barkley and i dont like Wilt, is that good enough reasoning for you? :p

Its the greatest not the one you like the most. No rules but that much is obvious at least. I'm sure Duky posted this for that reason otherwise I'd put Havlicek, Merv Pippen and Mavs Chucky etc.

It may not be right to you, but its right to me. is a difference of opinion THAT hard to accept mate? Have a 'crack at it'...if thats an invitation to start something no thanks, i dont pick on the elderly.

Define greatness: is it just stats, accolades, championships, what? everyone has their own definition of what makes a great player. some believe its a player who can hog the ball and take 30 shots a game, others believe its a great leader, myself i personally see greatness as overcoming adversity: players like charles and bird, who were not born with the physical gifts of others but who succeeded through hard work and determination. thats why i voted for charles.

I dont see why anyone has to justify their selection to you chad. charles is one of the 50 greatest of all time, just because others have won more championships, scoring titles etc does that automatically make them greater?

Btw, most of those listed are redundant, because i guarantee you everyone has never seen half those players play. Hell, many ozcards members wouldnt have even seen magic or bird play!

How about we mix it up a little.

Say, re-list the players. And allow people to put a 1, 2, & 3 vote next to 3 players.... of course, short reasoning why we chose those 3....

Should we get Graham to delete this thread, and start a fresh? (if we go that way) - if not, I'll edit this post of mine, and leave it blank to not confuse people.
