Another case of players running the club. Fair enough if the doggies were winning and made the finals, then, I can understand that players having a say. These 'leaders' in the club have done shit all.

Cooney is past it, Griffen isn't that great either so picks 4&7 would be a great investment for the future. McCartney wanted Lonergan at the club, so it's him who wanted to pay the big $ for him.

Would the Footcray VFL coach be in the mix as the coach now? I know he doesn't have AFL coaching experience, but the way clubs appoint coaches these days out of the blue, they may as well give him a shot to work on something long term?

GWS have pick 4 and Carlton have pick 7 so they won't be getting both picks for Griffen. The Bulldogs CEO is saying that Griffen needs to honour his contract which ends at the end of next year, so they are unlikely to get pick 4 for Griffen. Carlton are not offering Pick 7 for Liam Jones and they wouldn't even give them pick 28 for him, even when Cooney was added into the deal. So far, Bulldogs only have pick 6 in the top 20...
