1997/98 Fleer Series 1 and 2 Pack Break Thread! 196 of them!

Well guys I decided a few weeks back after going back through my old cards that I loved this old set. It's back in the day when they took real action shots of players and put them on cards with a full background and a simple design. To add to that this set was a 'Matte' card which looks cool and doesn't damage easily.

So I managed to find a seller whom had a stack of packs...100 of each Series 1 and 2! Unfortunately he sent me 96 Series 1 and 100 Series 2...But still

I won't be doing this all in 1 go, likely in small chunks at times and I'll make sure I post up results. Will start this afternoon ~5:00pm Melbourne time, 3/7/08.

Product Breakdown is 10 cards per Hobby Pack with an insert in each pack. Inserts for Series 1 include Crystal and Tiffany Collection Parallels and 'Decade of Excellence' sub-set. In Series 2 there is the same Parallels but a bunch more insert sets such as 'Key Ingredient' and 'Zone'.

Here's hoping I complete the base sets and perhaps some insert sets and get a bunch of the parallel on my way to a master set

Haha yeah which is why I'm not doing it all at once! Hey for the price I got, I couldn't help but go nuts on packs. Might even have some spare base sets to sell off

Yeah saw that RE: Retail. Unfortunately I think the source I have found only has Hobby. I'll have to double check.

As for the other Series 2, yeah I'll likely pick them up too. He said he'd send the 4 Series 1 he forgot to send with this lot to me with that lot if I purchased. So extra incentive (cause it's hardly worth me getting $1 odd refunded). Just hoping all the cards are in good nick cause some of the packs look a little 'old', but then they are 10-11 years old and are paper! Should be fine.

Will let you know if I choose to unload any packs

Will keep you in mind, and everyone whom is interested in anything. Memorys will be great! I remember busting a few packs of this back in the day. Still have the base and such sitting round in a box. Will have to pull it out to collate into the fresh lot.
