The Australian cricket non-official thread!

100% agree Scotty. He got out quickly in the ODI and people are calling for his head already. Read the stats!!!
Didn't realise your the stats man , sorry I don't no much about cricket lol , I'm talking about players in form and he's definitely not one? When they play test last week then one Sayers this week then test again next week I'm pretty sure u pick players in form but anyway

Rightio, you blokes and blokettes......

The inaugural OCFODISP (Ozcards Cricket Forum One Day International Selection Panel!) meeting is about to commence :)

Irrespective of opponent, venue etc - name your best current Australian XI One Day International team. PS @Scotty_WCE this is a shameful rip-off of your thread following the Hobart Test....I will have to pay card-related royalties hey?! :)

Anyway, let the debate commence...or continue!!

PS: I'll do mine when I finish work!

He played 2 tests and didn't perform and he's not in form? He got extremely unlucky in the ODI. I know he hasn't been great in test matches in recent times and I support him going back to the shield for a bit to prove himself again. However for one day cricket, an average of just below 40 and a strike rate of 92 plus being a handy limited overs bowler makes him a perfect fit for the squad. I think it's very unfair that you're saying he is not in form when in actual fact we haven't seen him play since the Hobart test, and then he gets run out by the bowler in unfortunate circumstances.

I'll send you an invoice :p

Good idea though. This could be quite tough. Let's see:

1. David Warner
2. Aaron Finch
3. Usman Khawaja
4. Steve Smith
5. George Bailey
6. Mitch Marsh
7. Matthew Wade
8. John Hastings
9. Mitchell Starc
10. Adam Zampa
11. Josh Hazlewood

Criticise away! Looking forward to seeing some others post their teams :)

David Warner (only a matter of time before he comes good again)
Usman Khawaja
Steve Smith
Travis Head
Peter Nevill (wk)
Matthew Wade
Mitch Marsh
Pat Cummins/James Pattinson/John Hastings
Mitchell Starc
Josh Hazlewood
Nathan Lyon

Would have Zampa as 12th man.

Everyone has an opinion?
My team would be
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Head
bailey
Maxwell
Wade
Starc
Hazlewood
Hastings
Zampa/Boyce

I realised that Clarkey wasn't making much sense in the comm box the other day... He repeatedly said that David Warner was in 'brilliant form'. He might have played a few nice shots but he certainly isn't in brilliant form, he hasn't really had much form since the first innings of the first test.

Looks like Clarke was right and I was wrong. LOL.

As the self-appointed chairman of the OCFODISP this is my team :)

D. Warner
A. Finch
U. Khawaja
S. Smith (c)
G. Bailey
J. Faulkner
M. Wade (wk)
A. Agar
M. Starc
J. Hazlewood
J. Behrendorff/A. Zampa

I seriously cannot watch m.marsh bat he is rubbish ? Got head up the other end smashing it everywhere and and marsh waiting balls up the other end

I don't mind your team, Mr Chairman - quite versatile which is always good in the shorter forms of the game.

HOPEFULLY this is the dawn of the "pick and stick" era. That said, I'll be interested to see what changes/additions are made for the upcoming Test tour of India.

You would assume that Chadwick Sayers is the next cab off the fast-bowling rank, @Keatoboy.

I have found the current Chappell/Hadlee series extremely boring. New Zealand only finished playing a bloody Test match less than a week before the first ODI and they look hopelessly under-prepared in my opinion. I don't believe that the three formats can co-exist successfully if games have to be shoe-horned here, there and everywhere. There is too much meaningless international cricket played. Well, perhaps being played at inopportune times?

Yep Chadd Sayers has 29 wickets at an average of about 18 in 5 shield games. That's 5.8 wickets per game and 2.9 (rounded up to 3) wickets per innings. He's the top wicket taker of the shield going in to the bbl break.
