when do playoffs open

Well the last day on the season calendar looks to be the 21st of April. We tick over to the 22nd at 1pm today so we'll see what happens then.

Playoffs are now open. The bad news is that when the playoffs rolled over it looks like the league auto-simmed the 1st game for everyone. That really sucks when it's a best of 3 series. Feel sorry for Giddles and Diddy who now find themselves in a sudden death game straight away. I could rant and complain about 2k but it all feels like wasted breath at this stage.

Advance times are double for the playoffs so 6 hours per day instead of 3. Looks like teams play every 2nd day.

OK, played my Game 2 after getting the sim win for Game 1. Was missing Davis due to injury. In the 2nd qtr Kevin Martin went down with an injury and is now out for the next 2 games as well :( Having bad injury luck at the moment. Beat the Hornets convincingly though and now awaiting Giddles or Houston in the next round.

Cousins made All-NBA 2nd team :)

Wizards easily blow past the Pacers in Game 2 to move through to the Eastern Conference Semi Finals. Gay was unstoppable early and finished with 28. Green had only 4 points, but 8 boards, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks :)

How many reward points is everyone on? I think they've all been handed out now apart from winning the NBA championship. And does everyone know who they are sending to training camp?

Is this the online league?! Man it sounds way more interactive and with many more features than last year. If anyone has 5 minutes want to give me a run down on the differences?

I got 2K12 for my birthday on Monday, but I'm in the middle of my exams for Uni so I haven't opened it yet. Sounds like you guys are in the playoffs. If you need more players for next season please don't hesitate to shoot me a PM. I will be active.

My last exam is tomorrow morning, and after that I'm bam into My Player and Online Leagues!

It's pretty much Association mode online Jimbo :)

160 Reward Points...not great. Haven't really used them before, so what do they do? Think I've only ever finished a season once in an association  I guess you send players to get better skills? So probably Cousins, Green, Young (to a defensive camp!)...maybe Maynor?

There are 13 different camps to choose from. 3 of the camps cost 25, 7 cost 30 and then 1 costs 40, 45 and 75.

Any player you send to a camp can't be sent to any other camp during that offseason.

Also remembering that young stud guys like Rose, Cousins, Curry etc already have a high Potential Rating so they are going to have a natural progression in ratings anyway. The camps are an opportunity to give those studs an even bigger boost, or make those other role players more well-rounded.

well i have 165pts to spend , seeing that durant is still young he will be off to training and id probably say millsap , not sure with brooks , but the bucks are through to the semi conference final so bring on chicago , i feel a awesome series coming up especially as he owes me payback big time lol gonna be a cracker

So if Diddy can come back from his 0-1 series against Kobe and the Bobcats, it will be 4 users through to the Eastern Semi-Finals.

Not sure which camp Durant goes to...seems to be pretty proficient in everything.

I'll be sending Rose to 'Combo Guard' Camp
DeAndre Jordon to 'Big Man Defense' Camp
Ed Davis to 'Big Man Offense' Camp
and maybe one of my new rookies from the draft...or Beasley if he actually sticks around.

Cousins to Big Man Defense sounds good. Young to guard Defense (if that exists? lol). Young is also yet to resign, but he's restricted and has Bird Years so I'd like to see anyone try  Hmmm DJ if he's still around off to Defense camp too. Maynor to Potential camp maybe?

There is a Perimeter Defense Camp which improves Stealing and On-Ball Defense by 6 points.

There is an 'Untapped Potential Camp which improves potential by 10 points but it also costs 75 reward points to send them.

Wow. Sounds like a lot of the things are being simmed automatically though. Do all 30 teams have to be player-controlled or are there some that are computer-controlled (and then you just have user on user matchups with those who are also in the league)...

Think we have 8? active members and 22 computer teams. Things get simmed because the league automatically advances through the days of the season at a rate of 1 game day = 3 hours in real time. So, you haven't been on and kept up with your games, then they will be simmed if it goes past the date it is scheduled for. Then there are the sims from general 2k stupidness...drop outs...and other little surprises 2k has installed into the game

Yep, the league has 30 teams. However many users you want and the rest are made up of CPU controlled teams. So if people leave or join the league it doesn't matter. You could take over a CPU team whenever you are ready.

Instead of like previous years where the entire schedule is flex, this time it gives you a window of games open to play. You can play upto 4 weeks ahead of the current date. The league advances one calendar day every 3 hours. It has all the features that you found in offline association so we do deal with contracts, salary caps, scouting prospects, trading draft picks etc. After the playoffs we'll go into offseason mode for Free Agency, another rookie draft, training camps etc. Then season 2 will start. It took us about 3 weeks to get to the playoffs in Season 1 so it moves at a pretty good pace.

Having CPU teams involved is good too as instead of logging on to play a game and not being able to find another user available, now you just jump in and play one of your league games against the CPU.

That's actually pretty cool. Cause you get the continuity of the league not lagging, as well as being able to see what other people are doing and top that! Very cool.

So what teams are currently taken? I'm keen to jump in tomorrow arvo when my exam is done. Real live rosters?

Also man 1 calendar day every 3 hours is heaps. So you go through a week in a day?! You really gotta play your games then, don't most NBA teams play at least 3-4 games a week. Haha so that's in a day farout.
