Hi all,

I noticed a few people interested in the different numbers on the back of the woollies dominos.

I have noticed a few things with the numbering, the only combinations I have found are as follows

0/0
1/0, 1/1
2/0, 2/1, 2/2
3/0, 3/1, 3/2, 3/3
4/0, 4/1, 4/2, 4/3, 4/4
5/0, 5/1, 5/2, 5/3, 5/4, 5/5
6/0, 6/1, 6/2, 6/3, 6/4, 6/5, 6/6

The first number is the one at the top / one at bottom.

I have also noted all the combinations I have found. So far I have only seen five different combinations of numbers on a single design.

These are what I have found so far. If anyone would like to contribute, feel free to list any other variations you have found and I will add to the list.

This is what I found. I have put together 4 sets. I tried using different numbers for each set but where I didn't find different numbering and had to use the same I have entered as red. Also the highlighted text to the side shows what numbers combinations I could come up (not including doubles) with yellow being 4 or more so each set would have a full set of numbered dominoes red are 3 or less for some of these though the doubles helped get over 4.

This Mike,

Found one more in your lot and have added to the first post.

Noticed an error with my listing for #18 Mr Incredible. I had it listed as 6/4, however that was a typo and it should have read 6/3.

If that was the addition that you made to your list then my apologies for the error.

Clearly I have added nothing new to the discussion, albeit maybe some further confirmation of combinations.

Interesting that 166 dominos have been identified to date, and a standard double-six set, as you identified in your first post, comprises 28 dominos.

6 sets of 28 dominos would total 168 dominos, so it may be possible that there are still 2 missing dot combinations, if there are in fact 6 "sets" in this series.

To align each of the identified domino into that matrix may provide a clue of what the possible missing 2 dot combinations may be, but to guess as to what character those Dots would be on would be the hard part as some characters have 3 identified tiles, where as others have more.

Of course dividing 44 characters into 168 possible total tiles is not a nice even number, but neither is 44 into 166.

It does make you look at the dots on the back of these dominos in a whole new way.....thinks that make you go hmmm! :)

I have a Buzz that is 0/0.. Have a heap more dominoes laying around here left over from my Neighbour so I will see if there are any others I have that aren't listed.

Had some idol time this morning, so thought I would just see how the existing identified domino dot combinations would look as a complete 28 tile double six set, and came up with the attached.

There are 3 complete sets that I came up with, with a 4th set that is 1 tile short. It may be possible to move some of the characters around to achieve a complete 4th set, but with only 4 identified 6/4 tiles it makes it a bit tough.

With 9 identified character tiles for both the 4/4 and 5/3 combinations, that just blows my earlier thoughts of just 6 "sets" out the window.

Anyway, the spreadsheet is attached for those who want to use it.
Note: there is some colours in it for the Mike and Lightning McQueen characters as I was toying with the idea of a different colour for each characters, but it just started to look like a rainbow.

End of the day maybe there is some logic behind the dot combinations that are on the tiles, OR maybe as the dots appear to stickers, they were just slapped on the back on the tiles with no though given on having sets with the standard 28 tile double-six configuration. I guess only Mr Woolworths would know that.

But it all become a little clearer if AussieLaker does identifies any more dot combinations.

Updated the list with the new Buzz tile.

Who knows if there is any logic to what they did. Could have just been random.

Would actually have been a good marketing ploy if there was one of each variant for each character. Would have to keep buying to get a full set.....
