OJ Mayo no doubt for me. Derrick Rose and Beasley have all the hype already, so they are expected to perform, Mayo has been downplayed ever since he went to college "he's not a true PG, he's not as athletic as he has been described, he's not big enough blah blah", I believe he can be great and I'd love to see how he goes. He's the real dark horse, because his name was as big as Bron's in HS but then Rose + Beasley overtook him, I'm eager to see whether the GM's made a dumb decision in passing over him.
I thouth the pole was who are we excited to see....if it's players that will be the most exciting, then the ones that will be getting major minutes like Beasley, Mayo, Love, Oden.
I answered the pole as who i'm excited to see which was:
Rose (Always curious to see how the no.1 draft pick goes)
Beasley (Is NBA ready and will put up reasonable numbers from day 1)
Mayo (Plenty of gametime, plenty of potential)
Oden (All three comments from the guys above)
Other (Bayliss) (Dunno, something about him, maybe i'm reading too much into his 40 point explosion at summer camp...Unfortunatley he is a scoring guard and he is on a team where he probably won't get the chances to play his natural game)
The most exciting will be Beasley and Mayo hands down. Beasley will be exciting cause he'll be having the biggest games, and Mayo because everyone wants to see if his star has faded at all.
Rose will be exciting too, but theres so much hype on him, and most chances say he won't live up to it and will have an ordinary first rookie season.
Oden probably is quite exciting too, but he has somewhat fell into the backlights when you think of the rookie class of 2008/09, simply because he wasn't drafted with this class and hence is not really associated or remembered with it.
Definitely Oden, the suspense has been there for a loooong time and it'll be cool to finally see him play in an NBA game. Then Beasley, hopefully he'll do some good for the Heat.
agreed osme mock drafts had him as high as #12 so it's surprising that he fell to the 30's.
i guess it's unpredictable though, but he was the #1 ranked piont guard in HS going into college and played a major role in Kansas when they won the national title.
he's very athletic and logn and can shoot the 3 ball, he was the conference defensive POY as well so its' a surprise he dropped so low.
anyway Patt Riley as usual did a great thing in getting him, hope he perfomrs!
