I am starting to knock bits 'n pieces off my wish list, which as most of you would have noticed, is nothing more than the Insert Checklists from all the card series thrown together. I don't actually remove items from the wish list until I have the cards in hand, but all things going well, I hope to soon cross off the Futera 1994-95 signature set (can't believe I spent so much on them) as well as most of the 1993-94 inserts including the Border and Bradman redemptions.

I'm really enjoying my collecting, but it's going to be rather delicate explaining to my wife why we don't have the funds to buy her long awaited CAR this year. "Honey, I thought you said you wanted me to go buy a CARD ... silly me". Not gonna work is it?

Guys, can someone tell if the Select 1998-99 gold set has any specific insert cards. What I mean is that in the retail version vs. the chrome hobby version, there are a few differences in terms of the inserts, for example the State Signature cards. So, does the gold set have any unique inserts?

Also, in relation to the Run Machines cards, I keep hearing the term First Day Issue - are there different versions of those?

Guys, can someone tell if the Select 1998-99 gold set has any specific insert cards. What I mean is that in the retail version vs. the chrome hobby version, there are a few differences in terms of the inserts, for example the State Signature cards. So, does the gold set have any unique inserts?

Also, in relation to the Run Machines cards, I keep hearing the term First Day Issue - are there different versions of those?

Nazim, the 98/99 Select retail version had 1 auto per box - the State Signatures.

The Hobby version also had 1 auto per box - the Ashes Heroes signatures. The McGrath & M Waugh signature cards were only in the hobby version and found in 1:8 boxes.

Both sets contained the World Class and Record Breakers inserts, however the ones in the hobby set werre chrome and the retail ones were not.


The Futera File tells you all about the 97 Decider 1st Day Issue vs regular inserts - you MUST buy a copy!!!
