TLA Traders 2021 Official Thread

I don't know anything about TLA but the fact that they didn't have a checklist up on their website surprised me to say the least. It's nothing like Select's website which is pretty slick.
Something to consider in that context is that Select are a specialist trading card company, they even sell they’re own top loaders etc now.

TLA or ESP as they were when they took on the license are a talent management company. The thought was that they only grabbed the license so they could have more contact with Elite NRL players, no doubt to try and bring them under their management.

TLA have actually done some pretty good things with cards and I think that many of their current issues could be rectified if they added another full time staff member to the trading card section, preferably a collector or someone heavily involved in that industry.

When you start a fake account to annoy people . But well played

Spot on unfortunately.

Lucky Leilua sig will do me nicely. Love him as a player. Massive young talent. Great game Tigers v Eels.
I had the eels -3.5 as the last leg on a decent multi , the tigers had me worried . @Matt26 , anychance we could add a nrl tips section for the punters ,or not allowed on here ?

I’d have to say this year’s traders have been the worst ever produced by TLA. The amount of starters they got rid of, falling short of the demand and running out of Traders stock, the multiple duplicates of cards, signature smudges and scratches and the terrible redemption criteria for premiership predictors. Most likely the last set I’ll collect until the set is improved or passed on to someone else. It’s just really depressing to see how far the NRL Traders have dropped from their peak.

Matt its not only TLA turning the collectors away its likes of moderators and collectors who continually bag the product and run it down that is also contributing to the decline of the hobby.

Why else do you think we hardly see any dealers advertising and/or selling on OZCARDTRADER any more.

Its all Facebook now. They needed somewhere before Facebook took over...
It could be just me or the fact I haven't found a good site but while Facebook may well be the preferred platform for most these days I really don't think it is well suited to collecting cards. It's primarily about the right here and now pretty much 2021 Traders and very little else, so if I am looking for a 2003 Scanlens retro set or a 1974 unmarked checklist I have very little hope of finding one as Facebook doesn't seem suited to people finding their wants it seems more about dealers selling boxes and individuals selling what they've just busted.

Have a got it wrong?

100 % correct. Very much for the here and now and hustle bustle world of box breaks etc. Hell, some people are so desperate to move cards they even photograph and price them in the car after a bust or take screen shots of a live break and list before a card is even in hand !!

Some pages are much better than others on FB but any trades I do on here, I generally feel much safer about. There are more bargains to be had on FB though. You can rest assured that at least once a week a new collector will have an emergency and need to dump their collection such as it is.

Lie detector confirmed this is a lie . You can’t be serious blaming this website/moderators etc for the garbage being fed to collectors .
If a product is good enough, you could stand on the Harbour Bridge screaming FU TLA and it wouldn’t matter . Look at the autos this year . Worst they have been , who’s fault is that ?

Then if you get a bargain you just gotta hope and pray they are not a scammer haha
